Given that we have injuries, and have known about them for some time, not to mention Hudd's worrying rate of recovery and the imminent sale of Palacios why are we waiting until the last minute to bring in Parker or someone in when we could of done it weeks ago, hell even two weeks ago would of been handy, but yeah I guess saving 5% on the fee was the priority.

Not saying it would of been result changing, but would of given us a better chance surely.

Has Redknapp ever signed a player he hasent signed before? ..talking about diarra, and fkin parker, bellamy ffs...

He's almost admitted he hasent got the bottle to spend on a player that might not work out..he'd rather always sign someone who will come in a do a safe job, is the feeling i get from him...

"yeah we're looking but its difficult" ..bollx everyone else is buying good players...he's really starting to annoy me now..and hes got the hump because modrics not leaving when he clearly wants him to so he can get a few quid..proberly want s to sign kanou again.

Quote "I have said to the chairman that the place needs a little lift now. I feel I have got everything I can out of them now."

I see this as an honest quote from a man who knows football and footballers. He certainly knows our squad better than any of us.

On paper our squad last year was behind Man utd, Citys, Cfc and Afcs.
That is exactly where we finished 5th behind them all.
Exactly to be fair where we should have finished (we cant always say that can we).
It is the same this year, Man Utd and City have got stronger, Afc weaker , and Cfc should be stronger.
3 of those teams have bought in top draw quality players.
The gap has widened.
No matter the coaching you cannot turn Lennon into a Silva, Silva is on a different level and always will be. Kaboul will never be a King, Dawson will never be a Terry.

I agree with Harry, been honest he cannot get us 4th this season.
It will be a battle to get 5th with Liverpool. That is what I think he meant when he said "I feel I have got everything I can out of them".

He has. To improve we need better players. Not a new manager (Fergie would not get us 4th imo), not a new coach. We need better players.

What a load of shit - to suggest that this group of players can't perform any better than they currently are is utter tripe. He's just doing what he does best in covering his arse and distancing himself from any blame.

We could've quite easily finished third last season and this team should be good enough to battle for fourth this season. Where's the famous magic of Harry "getting the best out of players" that I'm always hearing about...?

We finished 5th in the league last year, and for our first time in Champs league we done amazingly well.
We had problems, Bale got injured late on and Gomes was having a bad time of it. None of our strikers were scoring regulalry and Defoe was out of sorts all season (looks a lot sharper now).

EVERY manager whose team plays in the champs league for the first time says it effects your league performances. Its proven statistically to always be the case.

It was our first time and I believe our league form did suffer.
This season we dont have someone throwing silly money at players like City and Cfc or Man Utd have.
The best players in the country will go to the best teams who will pay them the best money.
All Players will have good games average games and poor games. The best players just have more good games and do more damage when they play well.

I dont understand what people are judging Harry on ?
He got us fourth
We beat the scum at home for the first time in years
He then took the club on an amazing Champs league run
We beat the scum away for the first time in years
We finished 5th that season, over taken by a City side that was on the up and were strengthening all the time.

How in any way does any of that make him a bad manager ?
I know there are a few West Ham supporters on here (one of my mates regularly stirs things up as an anti-Harry Spurs fan on glory glory forums), as well as Afc fans who probably enjoy doing the same thing.

So I do take what some people say on these forums with a pinch of salt and a wry smile

I'm starting to lose my faith in Harry. I've been a supporter of his for a long time, but I no longer feel that he has any interest in the long-term success of our club.

I'm hoping that Adebayor, and probably Parker, will change things for the better, and we'll finally regain some form in the league...but I hope Levy has his contingency drawn up already.

Plus...as much as I think that Harry has done brilliantly for us in the past, and has got us playing some great football at times..I just don't like the guy. Never have...never will.

Oh and he IS a fucking wheeler dealer. Just not a very good one.

 I've been drinking JDs at the jazz festival in Bristol for most of the evening. If it wasn't for the great live bands cheering me up, my comments on Harry would not be so pleasant.

Hope things are all well and good with you? Not seen you posting here that often recently.

Sometimes I've been too fed up to say anything, Spurger King. I got fed up of the TR section. And that's where most of the action was.

I didn't want the season to start, to be honest. Totally fucked off.

I should have gone and done something after the game to get my mind off it. You did the right thing.

Well by the time we play our next premiership game the window will be closed, and we will be able to play Adebayor, plus anyone else we somehow manage to convince to join us..so just think of it as a delayed start to the season.

Only with 0 points from two games...and a goal difference of minus 7.

I think Lennon has gone backwards under Redknapp.
when Harry came in Lennon was regularly cutting inside and driving inside the fullback (as well as outside) then i remember Harry for a spell constantly saying that Lennon needed to go to the line more, and it lead to a spell of Lennon just constantly doing that (with addmitedly soem success) but it took a lot of variety from a player who has no real skill or trickery to beat a player.

He is now a shadow of the player he was 2 years ago.

The thing with Friedel is that what he doesn't do cannot hurt him...

Gomes strength became a weakness in that he comes for so many crosses/corners that occassionally led to errors.

But Friedel comes for nothing so whilst these errors are not there, the pressure on the defence is much much more.

Lennon? The same Lennon that everyone moaned about when he cut inside under Jol ? The same Lennon everyones bitched about since he signed for having no final ball?

People have such insanely short/selective memories on here it's untrue

It's a bit irrelevant though as according to the ITK last winter we matched City's bid for him - but they were offering the usual massive wages (£220k) and he wanted to go there and had no interest in us.

Money talks.

Do people not realise we needed a striker last summer??? Not this summer or January. Last summer, when we qualified for the CL. That is when we needed new strikers. It was painfully obvious but HR was happy with the strikeforce. He still believes Jermain "looking sharp in training" Defoe is a 15-20 goal a season player.

HR thought that JD, Crouch, Keane and Pav were gonna be good enough to help us in the CL and maintain or improve our league position.

Anybody that has that view is bordering on clueless imo so it really worries me that last summer HR believed this to be the case.

Dzeko/Suarez/Carroll would all have been interested in coming to us I think last summer when we finished 4th. City seemed to have other targets then and were quite happy with their forwards.

Yeah, I said it when we signed him-the season starts against Wolves. I expected a spanking today but not quite 5-1.

Shine on, you crazy diamond.

Kranjcar not a CM? Eny fule kno that.

But what options? Livermore, or another kid? Huddlestone, who's patently struggling? Otherwise, you're down to theoreticals like Kaboul and Corluka.

Was it entirely down to the central midfield, anyway? I missed the game live, due to an inescapable family occasion (thoughtless bastards!), but having watched MOTD it seems to me that Dawson and Kaboul were both seriously at fault, and Lee Dixon had a point when he said that Bale and Lennon could have done more.

of course not, not until they were two up anyway. As per usual it was down to us missing chances and them not. Crouch and then Bale should have scored in the same move with it at 0-0 then Crouch should have scored again at 1-0. They didn't , Man City went two up , confidence grew in them , ours went through the floor and our midfield, defence and attack all melted away.

Stick Adebayor up there and I'm fairly certain he would have put both the Crouch chances away, different game then.
