About time, too. One BBC Wales presenter said to me they are 'sleepwalking towards relegation' under Laudrup. He's doing nothing, apparently he barely speaks to the players, just sits in his office all day. Their performance on Saturday was the lamest i've seen in a while. The quotes are telling, too:

"I had a meeting with Michael today in a final attempt to support him and establish a way to improve the work of the backroom team to secure the results we need over the final 14 Premier League games.

"However, after thinking long and hard about the best way forward, I felt it was unlikely we would achieve a stable environment at the club to allow us to get back to basics and produce the performance levels that have served Swansea City so well over the last few years.

Maybe he had no ideas, didn't see much wrong, or maybe he just wanted out and has been trying to get fired. Similar situation to Jol at Fulham; had enough and didn't want to do it anymore, but also didn't want to quit.

Hopefully he won't come anywhere near Spurs.

Here's a blog from Oct 2013 about lazy managers, featuring Jol as the star attraction. I think some of it also applies to Laudrup, from what i've been told: http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/bundesliga/id/159?cc=4716 maybe not so much the tactical coaching, it's clear Swansea have a philosophy, but leaving the players to their own devices is definitely something thrown at ML.

I am not really impressed with his football (and points gained in PL).
His decision to loan out Ki is absurd.
Really overrated.

The two signings Swansea made in the transfer window borders on the bizarre

Marvin Emnes & David N'gog.....i am sure those are not Laudrup's choices

Moral of the story........don't win the League Cup.

Four out of the last six years the winning manager has got sacked the following season.

Really shocked by the news. Thot he was doing fine at Swansea...

The league has been strange this season, with a big difference in the top half (Southampton and those above them) and the bottom half (villa and the ones below).

Two ways to see it, the Swans are 2 points above the relagation zone, but 3 points from 10th position. So it's not really a bad place to be.

Hopefully this decision will cost then... And we will buy michu on the cheap come summer. :sneaky:

Not surprised. He looked like he'd already mentally checked out of the job, and that was clearly rubbing off on the team and squad morale.

Swansea's results since their cup win have been diabolical and you could see the gradual erosion of their quick passing style (which is a shame because I thought he initially improved them by adding penetration to the pretty passing).

Garry Monk though...

Garry Monk though...

Yep, the very same Garry Monk that had an argument with Chico Flores that resulted in a brick being thrown and the police being called.
I'm sure some of the players are absolutely delighted with that decision

Relations between Laudrup and the club have never been the same since ties were severed with the manager's agent in the summer, after Swansea became frustrated with Bayram Tutumlu's growing influence on outgoing as well as incoming transfers.

--
In an interview with the Observer in November Jenkins outlined how unhappy he was with the mentality among some staff and players, whom he accused of adopting a defeatist approach against the better teams in the league. Laudrup was never mentioned by name but it was clear, from the language Jenkins used, that he was referring in part to the manager.

--
Questions have long been asked about how hard the players were working on the training ground under Laudrup and whether his regime was too relaxed –a point several members of the squad privately raised with the manager not long after he had taken over. This season fractures have started to appear on and off the pitch – last month Monk and Chico Flores clashed on the training ground.

--
Having gone to Paris to visit his daughter after losing at West Ham and having given the players a couple of days off – a decision that went down badly with members of the board – Laudrup returned to Swansea on Tuesday and was summoned to make-or-break talks.

I remember him saying in an interview that he didn't want to manage a team that was under pressure to win every game............what ambitious club wants someone like that in charge?

Just seen they're being linked with Hoddle, I'd quite like to see that happen although I like Swansea so I'd hate to see him take them down.

I'd love to see Hoddle managing in the Premier League again.
