I just hope the win today is going to build our confidence not weaken it. 75% of that game we looked lacklustre and uninterested, I understand that three losses on the trot is mentally devastating for a team that has lost it all before but we are back up to third all be it with an extra gameplayed, we are about to go on a tuff run in and need to be confidant in order to hold on. Chealse might have choked today but the hate they have for us will drive them to a better performance. We can't play the way we did today for the rest of he season... We need more, we need to be better. Basel is the key, we beat them we are back on two match winning streak... Time will tell.

I fully expect us to beat Everton as they will be without Pineaar and Fellaini.

W'Brom will also be hard to beat for Arsenal away and hopefully we could stretch our lead to 7 points come next week.

yeah we owe everton a dicking, and Pienaar was great against us earlier in the season, so he will be sorely missed.

Osman and Jelavic worry me. I personally think they are both pretty average, but they both play well against us, and Jelavic has scored in every game he's played against us!! Shows what i know.

AVB has to start rotating. I would personally start Carroll and Holtby against Basel. Not getting any game time in the PL and are of enough quality to play in that match.

Why worry about Jelavic, when we have Adebayor!

All depends on Thursday and how that game affects us, which is why we should have bale and lennon on the bench for that game.

Looking at the teams today, our players, bar a couple, just do not have the work rate required to implement AVB's system. Swansea where all over us harrying us, giving options for their team mates by moving in to space and generally keeping busy. Our lot just didn't/don't seem to have the energy. I refuse to believe that it is down to mid-week Europa League games. These are professional sportsmen we are talking about. I have to wonder if our fitness regime is up to scratch or not.

It seems when we have nothing to lose, we play well. And when we find ourselves in a commanding lead with everything to lose we begin to think the worst. Instead of challenging for more goals, we crawl back into our shells and attempt to protect our lead. We unfortunately are mentally weak and need someone to come in and strengthen them. SAF does it for M.U... Wenger for Arsenal.. Either AVB has to step up, or we get someone in who can rectify this.
The guy has been here less than 1 season. For goodness sake how about backing the guy in charge. As for winger and mental fortitude....well yes if 4th place is your ambition and no if it is to kick on from there.

Nowt to do with fitness and everything with going 2-0 up and simply trying to hold what we have, the same tactics that backfired against Inter Milan.

We won three vital points today, Naughton is still a kid, give him time.

He's 24. Walker can get the "he's a kid" excuse at 22 but at 24 you should be a bit better than Naughton if you wanna play for a team pushing for CL.

As LB or RB I wouldn't rate Naughton any higher than Corluka, Hutton, YP Lee, Ekotto or Chimbonda. Better than Gilberto I'll give ya that, probably on par with The CAnadian Giant Paul Stalteri.

Pipe down, I am full of praise for AVB, in fact I think he is brilliant. All I am saying is that we need to install some mental stability to the team. P.S. I am not talking about getting a new manager but a coach/ player who can introduce a mental toughness to the team.

I think we're a bit hard on Naughton to be honest. He's a right back playing left back for starters and on top of that we have no one helping him out to the extent Lennon helps Walker. We lack discipline on the left side of the pitch IMO
