So how would you explain the fact that Clive has subbbed him in virtually every game?

Magical moments, awful quarters of an hour?

subbed in virtually every game? i think he has played 5 times and been subbed twice........ there goes your theory.

what do you make of robbie keane being subbed so much this season, he got player of the year but hey i guess that makes him shit right?

its called TACTICAL DECISIONS, you know, something that managers are paid to do. if clive feels that taarabt is not performing and wants to try something different he will sub him, same for ramos and keane

if you hate him, just say so

But thats my point.

He may well not be ready (although, i think he is), but one day he will be. And we need to make sure that when that day comes, its in a Spurs shirt (or at the least, he is loaned out somewhere, but still a spurs player).

That clip shows skill, beating players, wicked through-balls, shots and great runs.

The thing is, we won't know how good he really is OR if he is ready or not unless the guy gets a chance to prove it!

I think in some round about way we actually agree. He is a player with a lot of raw talent, but unless it can be channelled into the right areas then he will never make it. I'm all for letting him go out on loan to some league one side so that he can learn to graft a bit. But whether that will happen I'm not sure. We only seem to loan out the ones we want to get rid of (O'Hara was on the verge of getting cut by Jol, it was Ramos who saw something in him when he returned).

I am not sure that is quite right. I think with youngsters it is more a case that they need to shine while on loan. Jol always rated O'Hara, he was 17th man for much of last season. At Millwall he was initially so-so, but after being told by Comolli and Allen that he needed to pull his socks up, he did the business for them. It was on the back of his performances for Millwall that he was recalled and given the chance to impress Ramos. Ifil and Barnrad returned from so-so loan spells shortly after and I do not think Ramos even got to look at them before they were moved on

There is no doubt that he has talent, but he is still abit hit and miss. If around next season I think he will be on the bench a lot more coz of the 7 subs so should get more minutes

But you're quite right. I could have sworn it was three out of five. (That's five out of a possible eighteen, right?) And I imagine you've seen all of them, so you're in a position to correct all those misleading reports from BOF and Spurs Odyssey.

And yes, I do know what tactical decisions are, thanks very much. Ramos and Jol have both made tactical decisions to leave Taarabt out of the starting line-up, and mostly out of the squad. I suppose a 'true' Spur who announced that we should phone in the CC result because we were so shit compared to Chelsea knows much, much better.

Scott Sinclair and Ben Sahar are next big things and hardly ever started for Chelsea.

Its all about timing. Its not a question of IF with Adel, its WHEN.

Wow, one bad "substitute performance"???

What happened his debut Vs. West Ham? He save us from the jaws of a draw and won us the game. Sure Berby had to convert, but still.

Watch him on YT and you'll see how gifted he is. Don't deny
how rare that is. To Come to a new country at 17 and change a game away from home, on his debut, in the "hardest league in the world". He is gifted.

And I blame management for not unravelling this gem.

And yes, YT, for once, does provide a 100% accurate account, because it documents pretty much all his playing time, from the St Patricks game to the Newcash game. - Which is a sign of something - It shows how little we've actually played him - and you guys wanna axe him?

The reason why he's so contreversial is everyone knows he has talent, but no one has seen enough of him.

Forget the reserves, a loan spell with WBA or any other low league team is all he needs. You'll see.

Cheers for answering. I honestly hope you're right. I agreed with you but the hype around him is something else. Personally, I think KPB has more about him as I've seen him do the business and totally dominate players and run matches for Germany U20s. Hopefully, we'll see them both shine when (and don't panic, I'm sure it is a 'when' they get their chances over the next season or so.

O'Hara was on the verge of getting cut by Jol, it was Ramos who saw something in him when he returned.

Sorry, no. Untrue. Very, very, very untrue.

I could (but I won't) bring up at least half a dozen interviews from even two years ago where Jol mentioned O'Hara in the same breath as his first team squad. I can promise you that if 7 subs were available then, JOH would have been on the bench every single week. Jol frequently raved about him. I can also promise you that once the Millwall loan ended he would have been in with a shout for the first team.

You've got to remember that Ramos played JOH initially at Pompey away when virtually all our other midfielders were crippled or suspended. In the kingdom of the blind this young, seemingly one-eyed lad was the nearest thing we had to a King. So he was given a shout. And he grasped it with a string of good to very good performances.

And with football being such a high risk game now, I don't think we should be surprised that we're picking a lad who will give you a guaranteed 6/10, maybe even a 7 or 8, as opposed to one, who may give you 9/10 for a few moments, but be a 4/10 for the rest of the game.

He played a couple of times didn't he? and well, he was woeful.

By all accounts he has been woeful in the reserves too, so on what grounds should he be gracing the hallowed WHL turf? because he can stepover?

He did show what he can do and that's not very much at the moment. He has bags of potential, but he needs to ply his trade either on loan or in the reserves before making the step up. Lennon already had 30+ games for Leeds under his belt when he came to us and could link up, Taarabts vision & passing is atrocious and selfish.

HARDLY mate, when he has come on for the first time he has sometimes been our brightest spark, so harsh is putting it mildly.

As for reserves, he has been the pick of the side on a few occassions. Obviously slating players with throw away comments is more fashionable though.

I'd send him to Palace next season. First class youth coaching, plus Neil Warnock. We'd see what he was made of then. Looks a potentially great player but needs to want it more, rather than thinking he has already got it.

Palace are supposed to be chasing Mark Yeates. Yeatsey and Trabant in the same team would not be good for the blood pressure...

Sorry, but did you watch the entire video??

Let me start by saying, this is video footage from ONE game only, against Derby and he was brought in something like the 70th minute, right?

Now, aside from those first couple off passes, he did a lot of bloody good in that 20 minutes he was on. Amazing skill, killer runs and as the video clips progresses, he started to put in some decent balls too! Not to mention, he tracked back a lot!

He was on for 20 minutes for petes sake. No one else in our squad can do what he can. Simple. If that is the worst vid you could get of him, imagine what his best is like... Don't make me search...

I have to agree. Just watched the video and the boy has fantastic control and tricks. Was expecting to see him just dribble endlessly with no product the way it was described, but apart from 1 bad pass and 1 selfish shot he showed a lot in a very short tiem on the pitch.

I'd still like him to play the simple pass when it's the best option and can see that he's trying too hard to impress, but he is a definite talent and hopefully we can persuade him to stay, give him a loan period in England to show what he can do and see what happens.
