Last season young Adel set the championship on fire and I read many on here saying how stupid we had been as a club for letting him go and how he was a top player. Well how the mighty has fallen - dropped by his national team, no longer the captain of QPR (given to Barton) and yesterday could only make the bench after a disappointing start to the season. It is only early days but he doesnt look like he will become the player himself and some others claimed - out of his depth imo

It's a bit too early to say whether or not he'll be a success in the Premiership, but yeah he certainly hasn't started the season too well.

I get the feeling that he's happy to be the big fish in a small pond, but can't stand to be surrounded by good players that take the attention away from him. It doesn't surprise me that his form has dipped since they signed Barton.

Glad we got rid of him really. He's got the talent, but seems to have a big attitude problem.

You can only accommodate a player like Taarabt to the detriment of the rest of the team. So need to be sure that what you get from him on his good days outweighs the potential disruption when things don't go well. In our case he was no way worth the hassle; QPR last season were a different story in the championship, Warnock was falling over himself to keep Taarabt happy & it paid off. Now this season the gulf in class between Taarabt & other PL players just isn't there so the disruption stops being ignored & we start hearing the stories like walking out of Craven Cottage during the game & getting bus home..

I watched him for QPR against Newcastle and he played very well.

But yeah, he's a massive knob. Glad we got rid.

Of the stand out players in last years' championship I think Scott Sinclair looks much more like a premiership footballer. If he didn't play in a position where we are already well covered I would not be against signing him.

Maybe the championship is his level
Too good for the Championship, not good enough for the Premiership.

He'd do well in France or Holland, I think, but would also struggle in Spain, Italy and Germany.

He's a great player at CHampionship level

a GOOD player at PL level, will be a star in a midtable or lower level PL team.

The problem is he doens't work hard enough for this level of teams and he is too inconsistent.

He will look amazing at time but they as a unit will suffer trying to cover his lack of team work over the course of a season.

No way is he good enough for us and we were right to sell, he wouldn't be doing any better for us than GDS is right now had we kept him.

To bad they didn't sell him for big money and give us a nice percentage via our sell on clause while his stock was higher.

i dont like him. but this thread is full of shit. he was on fire against newcastle. you all lick rafa's ass but how is he any different to tardis? (apart from experience) they both do what they want ignoring any tactical instruction. and it doesnt really matter when they are given freedom by nominally putting them supporting the striker on the team sheet.

Because Rafa is of higher quality and a talent worth a team carrying.

There is a reason VDV would be wanted by many of the top clubs in the world and could play for any of the top four while Taarbat has shown his best form in the Championship and has been benched by QPR recently.

Comparing VDV to Taarabt is stupid, its like making comparisons between Gazza and Lee Trundle because they have similar styles while ignoring the fact that one is streets ahead of the other.

I can't believe you even have to ask what the difference between him and Rafa are.

So why has he been stripped of the captains armband and also dropped recently? if he was doing the business this clearly wouldnt happen.

Just to point out - he has scored 0 goals and has 0 assists in his first 8 PL games.......

2 months on and still nothing - 0 goals and 0 assists so far! Warnock was saying the other day that he is regularly late for training as well which really sums this guy up. So much technical ability, so little mental ability.

Thought id update this 1 as well

VDV - 6 goals 3 assists
Taarabt - 0 goals 0 assists

At the start of the season I was really looking forward to seeing how well he did in the Prem. unfortunately he's been pretty anonymous whenever I've seen QPR.

In all justice, he was not dropped from the natinal team: it was he who quit.

Giovani mk2.

can't believe jamescole is even mentioning Rafa in this. He's the one that opened up Sunderland and Norwich, on top of the contribution above.

In fact, I can. It's jamescole isn't it? he's a bit different ;-)
