Surely, a prudent CEO would always deny their big ego manager making such a mistake!
And not back the manager?

This is the challenge chairmen have. They pay up and it doesn't work out then you have an expensive mistake and a player that is difficult to sell due to their salary. But if you don't pay up then the manager and fans feel the chairman is not backing them.

Not if the price was right. Happens all the time, talented known problem players moving from club to club. Just think Adebayor, Ballotelli, Quaresma, Diouf, Anelka........ the list goes on and on.

Genuine question, but is there no clause in players' contracts that allows clubs to terminate players? Or are clubs doomed to stick with players no matter how underperforming or unprofessional they are?

Sorry, I was trying to have a dig at the Poch-love and the Levy-hate on here by saying that with Tanguy, Poch was clearly a big-ego manager, who thought he could get something out of a bad apple. And Levy could in hindsight have done more to deny him this player, but that would have been criticized even more on here.

I'm sure there are 'morals' clause but I am not familiar with UK laws on this. Other than that, probably the best way to terminate a contract is to buy it out. See Aurier.

there are many others in the team who also needs to leave. Ndombele does not hold the responsibilty alone

Of course he doesn't, until he intentionally trolled the team and fans as he further slowed his lack-of-urgency exit in responding to the boos.

You don't think others are getting stick? Just Ndombele? Better not visit the Emerson, Alli, Tanganga, GLC, Doherty, Gollini, Hojbjerg, Sanchez threads

Found The booing of our own player embarrassing, was like being at the Emirates.
Lie others said, the booing was due to him slowly trudging off when we were 1-0 down at home vs Morecombe (who were busy being aggregating twats singing about us getting battered, when it was 1-0 and they're in a damn relegation zone!)
Contrast with Gill. Sprinted off. Sure he was disappointed to get hooked too. But had the right attitude.
Couldn't quite see as was in West, but think ndombele walked straight down the tunnel too (unlike dele and gill?) it's that lack of nit giving a damn that really got the crowd going IMHO (and, unlike booing because someone had a bad game, which I dislike, a fair cop. And conte basically said as such in his presso.

Would've been funny if the ref booked him for time wasting ;) (seriously though, i remember us in a game where we were losing and Les Ferdinand was booked for time wasting )

It is strange though that in a thread about Ndombele he is the only one getting abuse! :cautious:

Where I was I didn't hear boos when he was subbed, when he stopped to have a picnic in the centre circle (exaggeration I know, but thats what it felt like!) The boos started to tell him to get off the pitch. The prick actually SLOWED down, thats when the booing really took off.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, in this case the boos were completely justified.

I've never seem something so unprofessional, 15 mins ish to go, one nil down in a cup tie and he does that....

Possibly Cantona going full Bruce Lee on a supporter, but I know what you mean.
