Makes you wonder who on earth we are actually tracking to replace Dembele (don't say Grealish).

There's been hints of a new formation next season, that and our pursuit of attacking mids suggests we may be going for a single pivot in Dier/Wanyama. Maybe we won't be getting a Dembele replacement as such.

Even with using a different formation, it would be incredibly foolish to go into a season with Dier, Wanyama and Winks as our only CM's.

All my highlights are on cutting edge Betamax.
Lucky you. Mine are on ancient Babylonian scrolls. Sadly most were destroyed when the great library was sacked in Alexandria. Many people of that era say I was the George Best of my time. Minus the skill. The stadiums. Leather balls. (we used to use the heads of conquered kings. Try doing a Roberto Carlos with one of those...!!) I tell ya, the kids these days don't know how good they got it!

Yeah I tend to agree but, let's say for arguments sake, we adopt this:

It's really just the holding position we'll need an out and out defensive mid in Dier/Wanyama. The other midfielders can be more of a box to box/playmaker type attacking the space behind Kane. So we may get a midfielder, he just may not be the strong dominating type as Dembele, rather a less physical, more technical player like Winks. Just throwing ideas about.

This is the way forward and it gives us both balance and unpredictability. I know we've zero chance of getting him but the ideal anchorman as per City with Fernandinho is someone in Arturo Vidal's ilk... a player who is a tough tackler, reliable but can also keep playing ticking over. Diawara has potential but it depends whether we're after someone youthful or an experienced pro.

I could definitely see that or a 4141 formation with that team. But i still feel we’ll need 1 maybe 2 cm’s though

We are not though Dembele, sissisoko, Onomah are all spurs players. I’m sure if/when we sell we will buy a new shiney player.

I like it but I can imagine the number of bookings Dele will get playing in that role. :ROFLMAO:

Looks great until you look at the right side of defence aurier and Sanchez there’s at least 3 car crashes a game there
Shit like this is why players generally think fans know fuck all. You’re saying this like Sanchez had a bad season, he was v good. Aurier hasn’t even had a Poch pre season yet, judge him properly then.

I think if were going to play Dier Alli and Ericksen then it will be with a back 3 similar to what England are looking to do
