Not too sure if some of our players will be fit, not sure if i want to risk them ahead of the Chelsea game.
for me its gotta be:
Freidal
Fryers, Dawson, Chrirches, Naughton
Lemela, Hotby, Sandro, Sigurdsson
Defoe, Kane
Wouldn't mind having Bentaleb, Fredericks, Obika and Coulthrist on the bench.

I know we are playing with one up top, but just for this game I'd play two lol, or Kane playing a little deeper.

I think this is a game where you make eleven changes and whatever happens, happens. Fortunately we have the squad depth in most positions. Players who played today and are guaranteed starters for next weekend shouldn't even be on the bench. Just make up the numbers with youngsters.

Friedel
Naughton Chiriches Kaboul Fryers
Sandro Holtby
Lamela Kane Chadli
Defoe
Subs: Gomes, plus a load of youngsters.
The ones in bold are obviously fitness doubts. If Kaboul is injured I'm really not sure what we do, Dawson is the likely candidate. If Chadli then fuck it, throw in Adebayor and play three strikers.

Give Townsend an hour, should be fit for it. Sandro & Kaboul need games and must be in contention for Saturday after this game. Lamela needs more minutes too. With Lennon and Chadli out injured we'll be forced to play one or two players who were involved today and will be involved again at the weekend.
Not sure who strong Villa will go. I think they'll rotate a few players too. Wont be too disappointed to go out. If we arent going to win this cup then we are better out of it as early as possible.

Friedel
Naughton Kaboul* Chiriches Fryers
Sandro
Dembele Holtby/Eriksen
Townsend---------------------Chadli*
Defoe*
Kaboul to swap for Dawson if injured.
Chadli to swap for Sigurdsson if injured.
Defoe to swap for Kane if injured.
Either Holtby or Eriksen on the middle depending who we have in mind to start against Chelsea.

Lloris or Friedel - goalie doesn't need the rest, but if we want to get some games for Friedel in case we need him more regularly if Lloris is injured, then Brad

Walker - Naughton has played on both thursday and tonight, enough rest for Chelsea game for Walker
Kaboul & Chiriches - easy ones to pick
Fryers - another easy pick

Sandro, Holtby, Lamela and Chadli (if fit) - former 3 didn't start tonight (well neither did Chadli obviously)

Defoe if fit, Kane if not.

Last spot I'd go for Paulinho as Dembele started both games.

So Friedel/Lloris - Walker, Chiriches, Kaboul, Fryers - Sandro, Paulinho - Lamela, Holtby, Chadli - Defoe(/Kane). If Chadli isn't fit, then Townsend or Eriksen, neither started both on thursday and tonight.

There is no way I would play either Paulinho or Dembele with Chelsea on Saturday, no way.

Even if it means playing Holtby deeper or bringing in a youngster, so be it.

Not sure I'd want Kane 'behind' Defoe because essentially I think it would turn into a 4-4-2. Would be nice to stick with the system of the season so far and keep the solidity of a 3 man midfield, 2 wide men and one striker.

If Chadli's not fit it might be fun to play McEvoy, just to see the look on the Villa players faces at having to play against Bale.....

Despite what AVB said, this will be a good opportunity to give game time to those who arrived late in August, those returning to fitness and the U21 players who have impressed.

Something like:

Freidel
Naughton
Vejkovic
Chiriches
Fryers
Sandro
Bentaleb
Holtby
Lamela
Lennon/Chadli
Defoe

Inexperienced at the back but it'd be a good experience for them to play 90 mins at the top (ish!) level.

Not so much - Kane much prefers playing off a central striker and dropping back to receive the ball, it would be really quite similar to our current line-up.

Sunday in itself means next to nothing, there is easily enough rest for Chelsea game. It's more about who played on thursday and sunday and how much, preferably start with those who didn't start at sunday, if not possible on all cases, choose players that didn't start with both thursday and sunday. So no for Dembele, Paulinho is a possibility alongside Sandro. I wouldn't be that pleased to see likes of Bentaleb on pitch, with squad we have it's neccessity to advance and we won't by throwing physically lacking players onto central midfield. I mean Villa away won't be easy.
