I think we he went in wanting to get Arter out the way, not necessarily to elbow the guy. Level of force was pretty strong and it was clumsy. Probably deserves the ban but don't think he meant it.
why didn't he just push him then.. he didn't have to swing an elbow.. if he says he didn't mean to elbow him in the face then maybe he didn't mean to hurt him but imo he lost control & swung an elbow.. I think it was dangerous not clumsy.. anyway it's over with so we'll agree to disagree

Just sounds like you have an axe to grind to me. It wasn't the vicious assault you seem to paint. He's got a 3 game ban, to suggest we should've imposed our own internal ban is ridiculous and wouldn't have happened in a million years.
Ok read the last paragraph again.. I said if he wasn't banned then we should.. Sounds to me you have Spurs tinted glasses on..

And I suggested that if he wasn't banned there would be no way we would internally impose a ban. No, I'm probably one of the most objective football fans you'll meet. Due to the sheer amount of posts you've made in relation to the incident all clues point towards you not liking Sissoko for whatever reason.

No I don't like what he done.. I thought it was stupid & could of & should of had us down to 10 men.. that doesn't help team & whether you call it an internal ban .. I'd call it been dropped as punishment.. it's as much about sending a message to the whole squad about discipline as about any dislike for Sissoko as I don't particularly dislike anyone in a Spurs shirt .. what he done was stupid though & doesn't benefit the team imo

I'd like to see

Vorm

Trip, ccv, big kev, Davies

Dier, winks

Lamela, eriksen, gkn

Janssen.

Subs
Lopez, Verts, walker, wanyama, dembele, onomah, son.

I'd like to try at some point during the game the three behind Janssen line up as: GKN, Lamela, eriksen to see how that goes.

Lyall from sky saying Carroll, Winks, Nkoudou & CCV all starting

Carroll & Winks together doesn't fill me with deep joy. Back 1 or the other. Not sure you can play both

Think Winks looks the better prospect IMO especially as he's only played a fraction of the football Carroll has at senior level

What about them.. what they did was nowhere as bad or dangerous as what Sissoko done he could of seriously hurt Arter.. if fans think that sort of thing is acceptable then they need to take a look at themselves.. not only could it of caused serious injury & though he didn't see red which he should of.. down to ten men could of cost us a point.. Pochettino needs to clamp down on this sort of behaviour in my opinion

I take it you think it was deliberate then?
As in, he saw him coming and nailed him with the intention of doing him damage...?
It didnt look like that to me...!

At the angle they were, he would have been pushing him into the crowd...Think you may get a bigger ban for that...

it was a deliberate elbow imo.. was it premeditated.. no.. was it intentional to elbow him in the face to cause Arter injury.. probably not... but in that moment he swung an elbow whether it was meant for he face or chest is besides the point..he lost control & done something stupid & dangerous in the moment. If it was Harry Kane or whoever that done it I would still have a problem with it.. It's indiscipline & will cost us in the longrun if the manager doesn't put his foot down.. we got learn to keep our heads or it will cost us.

I was very impressed with winks and Carroll in the last round thought they had a great understanding between them and played a lot of quick sharp passes. I realise it was only vs gillingham but they probably deserve the chance to play tonight

I don't know about that.. it could be argued either way.. would it be seen as handbags or violent conduct.. suppose it would depend on the severity of the push.. all I want is for us to not lose our heads when the pressure is on & I am sure Pochettino has already talked to them about this however if his words are not been listened to then he has to get tough & start dropping the culprits.

With rumours/guesses having Carroll, Winks, GKN, CCV and Lamela all starting.. I'd go:

Vorm
Tripper CCV Wimmer Davies
Dier Winks
Lamela Carroll GKN
Janssen

I'd like to see Onomah given a proper run out too. Although could see the gaffer going with Carroll and Winks as the CM two and having Onomah starting as one of the AM3's.

Does Lyall know this or is he just guessing?

If he knows this then how does he get that information? If I was the coach of the team I wouldn't want the opposition to know which players were going to take part. This just gives the opposing coach an advantage in picking his team.

If Dier is selected then I would hope that Alderweireld is fit enough to play on the weekend. Because if he's not fit then we're asking for trouble if Dier picks up an injury.
