Another thing...AVB needs to pick a team and stick to it for a few games and forget about pissing players off. Players' aspirations to play in the worldy cup do not supersede our ambitions as a club. If they wanna improve their chances of going they can just play better and get picked, not play shite and then moan about not playing enough and being in danger of being overlooked (defoe).

It's not a terrible selection but our passing in the middle will be shocking. Dembele doesn't get his head up and Sandro isn't in the side for passing ability. On top of that Lennon, all though I love him, hides from the ball a lot. We'd have to play on the break and hope they don't put too much pressure on us

What I hope we get:

Genuine 4-3-3 with Sandro or Capoue anchoring the side. Holtby and Dembele free to get up and down the pitch either side of the DM. Dembele in because he loves fucking up Man U midfields. Lamela on the right where he belongs and Townsend on the left to give us pace on the counter. Both wideforwards to be instructed to stop piss arsing about in front of the oppo defence and instead always look to be getting in behind the defence where possible or supporting Soldado. Wingbacks to do the creative work down the wings to take that burden off the wide forwards. Adebayor up front because fuck it why not

Reasoning:

GK: Self explanatory

Defence: Dawson proved on Sunday that if we want to improve and finish in the top 4, we have to move on from him. Verts has no choice but to play LB.

Midfield: Sandro and Capoue picks itself, Paulinho needs a break, he has been very poor recently, and i'll get onto Dembele in a sec. The only change i'd make is Holtby for Capoue. Dembele hasnt been brilliant sitting back, but his attacking play has actually been very good. We also need somebody to hold the ball up for Soldado, and (imo) Dembele is one of the best dribblers and ball retainers in the league.

Attack:
Townsend and Lamela will be our starting wingers imo, and its time they play together and settle in. Townsend can be alot more productive for Soldado on the left. Finally, Soldado is our best striker, he starts. Simple as.

Brilliant and reasonable, simple as. Good job; I thought just the same.

Dembele HAS to play...he outplays United's whole midfield by himself every single time.

Dembele and Soldado upfront is brilliant. They'll hold up the ball well; Dembele will serve to incision the opposing defense and Soldado will be well positioned to fire and score. Adding what Lamela and Townsend can do to soak up opposing defense concentration while they feed Dembele and Soldado some nice amo.

Lets get back to what we know, Sandro and Dembele in the middle. Lamela from the right cutting in and offering some craft hopefully. Townsend from the left, focus him on crossing and providing...and Adebayor up top to to take advantage of such and knit some of the play together. Soldado needs to be taken out of the team for a bit.

The goal-scoring and assist numbers of Lennon, Townsend, Dembele and Holtby are simply shocking in league play in the calendar year 2013. I can't believe so many of the line-ups here have all 4 of them as as starters. We will not score until all 4 are dropped. Paulinho was very poor on Sunday, but he was very good for Brazil last week, and I have to believe he was fatigued from the 3 games in a short time span.
