We're getting to the point now where we can field players to suit any formation.

I think poch may slip in a couple 352s this season (seems more comfortable with that switch-up). Fact is he needs to add to his repertoire in this respect and begin to instill different modes into the squad.

He must have that as a manager.

Maureen has won much of what he has playing 4231, but he has the lot in his locker and can bust out with something different if needed.

I think it's imperative poch grows as a manager in this regard.

Regardless, this is a thread for the fans more than anything else. What we'd like to see on occasion.

If we want to go gungho in a home game against lesser opposition, id play

A more conservative approach would be to replace nkoudou with alli or eriksen.

If we want a stronger and tougher defensive lineup, wanyama takes dembele's place while dembele plays ACM and lamela moves LAM.

interesting but tbh I can not see us ever lining up like this .....
it will pretty much always be 4231 with poss a 4411

That brings good drive and pace to either side of the A3. If GKN shows decent creativity it might just wake Christian up a bit.

I'm the original 'we won't see anything other than 4231' but now, as fans, we can explore viable alternatives that might come in handy for the odd game or two.

This would be absolutely suicidal, everything packed in a narrow looking midfield, and a weak defense and forward line. But something makes me want to see it.

A Conte styled 3-5-2 could be interesting. In the example below you could also take out a striker and put on Lamela, or an nuber 10 or take out a midfielder for and eriksen.
