Havnt seen one of these yet..

Waddaya thinkin?

I'm going to go for the team similar to the one we played when we spanked them last season.

Gomes
Corluka Dawson Gallas Ekotto
Lennon Modric Palacios Bale
Defoe Crouch

Corluka did very well against Twente and the couple of lapses in his game should be ironed out with game time. Plus he releases and links up with Lennon so much more effectively than Hutton does.

Dawson played 90 minutes in an XI game against MK Dons and did well so if he is upto it and feeling fit I think he should make his comeback. If he's not quite ready than Bassong it is.

Palacios was excellent against Twente. Getting back to his best game by game. All he needed was some game time. His confidence is coming back.

Rest of the team picks itself really.

Wasn't there reports earlier in the week VDV and Kaboul might make this one?

Yep this for me. Dawson if they're confident he's fit. Chalky didn't do enough against 20 for me to deserve to play ahead of Hutton. And while he (and his treatment by refs) frustrates me, Crouch should get the nod as chavvy Terry and co will be a bit too physical for Pav

Pav was awesome against Chelsea last year, well his general play was, his finishing let him down big time though - usually it's the opposite as we know. Ivanovic and Terry will dominate Crouch imo, we'd just be playing into their hands.

VDV is out for quite a while yet, wouldn't be surprised to see Kaboul fit though.

I'd play Sandro in stead of Wilson.

Not ready IMO.

What Dawson brings are those (at times) perfectly weighted diagonal balls from deep that release both Bale and Lennon.

Another angle of attach that stops us being too predictable.

Just copied this quote from cfcforum "Before Bosingwa got injured I was worried we'd be in for a real hiding up there on Sunday but now that I know that Ferreira will be at RB I'm scared we might be looking at a 3-0 or 4-0 loss.

They are expecting the worse!!

You think they will beat him in the air??????????

There was, but as we've heard nothing since I think it seems extremely unlikely.

There was a (alleged?) quote from VdV (in an article about him going to the Netherlands for treatment by the Dutch NT doctor) on Monday or so saying he'd be back earlier than expected and was aiming to be in contention for Blackpool.

VDV and Kaboul would be a real bonus but I am assuming they wont be back, probably both be back for Blackpool though.

Obviously the team picks itself...apart from Bassong/Dawson, Corluka/Hutton and Crouch/Pav...

Personally I would go Dawson (if he is deemed fit enough), Hutton and Crouch.

Given that Pav stared against Twenty, and considering Crouchys success in Europe, I would say Harry intends to start the fresher Crouch against the Chavs.

Pav to come on if we need him.

Corluka links better with Lennon but his lack of pace was worrying the other night - but to be fair it was his first game back.

-----------Gomes-----------
Hutton--Gallas--Dawson--BAE
Lennon--Palacios--Modric--Bale
----Defoe-----Pavlyuchenko---

Not a clue about the subs, whoevers fit I suppose.

Bit of a risk playing Daws, but played friendly midweek so should be fine.
