I can see him keeping Chadli on and benching Alli, to be honest. He seems to like Chadli a lot.
Because he's got goals in him.. Chadders is a strange one though, he reminds me of Defoe in the way he can get the odd goal but simultaneously hold the team back.

I'm not his biggest fan tbh. Good squad option though for where we are at the moment.

His batshit moments set a rot in the defense and destabilise it.. Sick of it

I've already given him props for improving on last season and he's genuinely got a lot of his act together. People underestimate the destructive effect of his crazy decision making - every game - though. It's debilitating to the back 4's confidence and makes them super shaky.

Toby and Verts with Dier in front of them have brought us a decent level of stability. I don't want that core disrupted by the slow drip of jitters fed into them by Kyle. It's debilitating.

We simply cannot afford it if we want to progress.

I feel that strongly about it.

I'm sure @Trix has already alluded to Lloris having had enough of it as well iirc.

Not me mate.

Lloris
Walker
Toby
Verts
Rose
Dier
Alli
Son
Lamela
Eriksen
Kane

I suspect Poch will pick Chadli though with either Lamela or Eriksen making way.

If Navas plays.
I still wouldn't drop Davis, he's earned his spot by keeping clean sheets.
Till that changes he stays (which could be Saturday )
Really surprised at you here @jezz. I don't believe the clean sheets were due to Davies. Who to say that had Rose played in these particular games we wouldn't have had clean sheets? Plus Rose offers an offensive part to the game that Davies doesnt. Just don't buy your reasoning on this occasion

As a potentially interesting aside...does anyone think any of our players would get in City's starting XI?

Other than Lloris I'm struggling to think who, and even then I don't think there's a massive gap between Lloris and Hart.

Only Lloris, the rest of their team is too good.

Doesn't mean we can't win at home though. We need to press them off the park and deny service to their front 4. If we put immense pressure on their defense we can win.

Team I'd probably pick would be:

Lloris
Walker--Alderweireld---Vertonghen---Rose
Dier---Alli
Son---Lamela---Chadli
Kane
Tempted to have Eriksen in but I think Chadli presses better, so I'd go with him for that reason.

He never said thy were down to Davies

I took what he said to mean - he's okay we his part in the previous clean sheets and has played well and therefore earned the right to retain his place for now

Id personally start rose but I can totally see where jezz us coming from in terms or rewarding players for their performance

Yes Davis has done well and as a unit they have kept clean sheets, so until that changes it's Davis for me.
I think Rose is the better player and Im sure when the chance arises Danny will take it (which could be tomorrow )
As Shea says it's just rewarding the players for the performance.

two clean sheets, wow. sunderland and palace hit the woodwork four times between them so we were pretty fortunate to come out those games with 0 goals conceded.

Considering injuries I would go:

LLORIS

WALKER
TOBY
VERTONGHEN
ROSE

DIER
ALLI

LAMELA
ERIKSEN
SON

KANE

Tbh I don't hold out much hope for this game. Our majorly experienced midfield against the power and experience of toure and fernandinho will be a severe test. I just don't see us being able to deal with their pace and interplay. I would love to be wrong, of course, but unless we put in our best performance of the seasons I can see this being nothing other than a loss.

Thnik the team pretty much picks itself doesn't it?

Only thing in contention is Rose/Davies

Agreed but every team needs a little luck and if Danny had played those games I would be saying the same for him.

...............................Lloris.................................

Walker..........Toby.................Verts..........Rose

..............................Dier.....................................

................Alli.........................Mason..................

............................Son.......................................

.............Chadli............................Kane.............

Harsh on Lamela and Eriksen, I know & I expect one or both of them to start but I like the solidity of Mason and Alli in a 3 man midfield

Mason still out so I'd go with the above but swap Eriksen for Mason - I'd leave it pretty fluid but basically switch between a 4-4-2 diamond (as above), 4-2-3-1 with Son (right), Eriksen (Central) and Chadli (left) behind Kane and 4-3-3 as above but with Chadli RWF & Son LWF - options.

Am expecting Davies for Rose but, otherwise, reckon this will be our team with the possible inclusion of Lamela but I don't know who for (won't be Dier, Alli, Kane or Son as they were rested midweek so only leaves Eriksen or Chadli)

Lloris
Trippier Toby Vertonghen Rose
Dier Alli
Son Lamela Eriksen
Kane

McGee, Wimmer, Mason, Winks, Pritchard, Townsend, N'Jie
With todays team news, switch Chadli and Carroll for Mason and Pritchard in that team.

This will be Poch's 18 though
Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier Alli
Son Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Vorm, Wimmer, Trippier, Rose, Carroll, Lamela, N'Jie

There's nothing fortunate about the other team not being able to hit the target ffs
So what its not a fortunate that were that shot an inch or two lower or to the left or right that it would result in a goal, with the keeper having no chance?

Kompany back for City. No doubt Aguero will finding his scoring boots today against us...Only consolation is Silva is not fit but then there is De Bruyne.

For us, hopfully Mason is fit. I would like to see Mason, Dier & Alli to start in midfield
