So what its not a fortunate that were that shot an inch or two lower or to the left or right that it would result in a goal, with the keeper having no chance?

Nope because the argument hinges on a couple of moments in the match and totally ignores a high percentage of the game where we kept both teams at bay reducing the likely hood of them scoring a goal...

If you went through the season where every team we faced had a chance to score but hit the post every match yet we still conceded 0 then would you say its lucky we had the best defence in the league based over 38 games...no?

Last season in the corresponding fixtures we manage to get 2 points and let in 2 goals in the process yet this season we concede 0 goals and obtain 6 points, that's nothing to do with luck, we are clearly doing something right.

As long as the ref doesn't disallow a perfectly good equaliser and send our defender off for a perfect saving tackle and give a penalty against us when there was no foul then we are in with a chance.
This game is winnable.

Well with Mason out I reckon Poch will pick the same team that beat Palace - took Chadli off on Wednesday night.

But really, its an easy choice for me:

Lloris

Walker
Toby
Jan
Rose

Dier
Alli

Son
Lamela
Eriksen

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Carroll, Chadli. Townsend, Njie

I think Eriksen's best position is 10, he's not dynamic or assertive enough to play inside left. It's a question then of who is the better number 10, Lamela or Eriksen? Not even the most one eyed Lamela supporter can claim their man for that position; not yet anyway. So then it's Son and after that it's just a question of Lamela or Chadli for the remaining AM, and given the last couple of games I'd go for Lamela, but only by a whisker. He basically had a decent game last time out following on from a maximum 6 type performance against Qarabag, if he has another inconsitent game he'll be off at 60 minutes and won't start the following one.

There's also a decision for me between Walker and Trippier. Given the strength of the opposition, I'm plumping for Walker, but on the condition he plays primarily as a defender - I don't see he brings anything much going forwards anyway.

So:
Lloris
Walker Toby Vertonghen Rose
Dier Delle Alli
Lamela Eriksen Son
Kane

Only Lloris, the rest of their team is too good.

Doesn't mean we can't win at home though. We need to press them off the park and deny service to their front 4. If we put immense pressure on their defense we can win.

Team I'd probably pick would be:

Lloris
Walker--Alderweireld---Vertonghen---Rose
Dier---Alli
Son---Lamela---Chadli
Kane
Tempted to have Eriksen in but I think Chadli presses better, so I'd go with him for that reason.

Eriksen is indeed popular amongst spurs supporters, but he went missing again last match, as he often seems to do. So it could easily be that Poch chooses Chadli to start with Eriksen coming on later. I think I would prefer the threat, pace and occasional tracking back of Chadli honestly, although I did notice Eriksen tracking back more last game.

Lloris
Walker Toby Verts Rose
Dier Mason
Son Alli Eriksen
Kane
If Mason isn't fit then I'd pull Alli back and put Lamela on behind Kane.

How many Premier League goals had Harry scored by this time last season ?

Not even sure he had any games by this point last season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Harry score today*. Come back with a bang.

*cue optimistic ratings.

Therefore nobody should be concerned about him so far this season.

We are up against the top team here. Because of that we should be wary of playing anyone less than match proven having returned fom injury. Mason and Bentaleb should not be risked here.
...........Lloris
Walker-Toby-Vert-Davies
.........Dier-Alli
Son-Eriksen-Chadli
...........Kane

Davies does not offer asmuch going forward as Rose but in truth I can't see the value of having two poor decision makings on there a la Walker and Rose. Trippier hasn't particularly impressed on the right so it is Walker to start..Would actually like to see Dier Toby and Vert in a back three in one of the weaker UEFA matches
Went pretty close with that side eh:sneaky:

I picked the winning team. Managing Spurs is a piece of piss.

In fact, managing any team is a walk in the park. You essentially get paid for doing nothing.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but has anyone worked out the average age of the starting XI? Or the finishing XI?
