Did we though this time last year. Our champions league campaign last year was dreadful, and we weren't much better in the league, but we picked it up eventually and now everybody remembers how we played in April as indicative of our form over the entire season.

I think Poch will pick a strong one tonight. They wouldn't have all travelled if he didn't. Think he'll want to send a message to the players. Which will mean playing full strength but drop some of the guys who aren't performing? Maybe play Alli as I think the guy needs to play his way back into form.

I understand asking for patience but hes 20 now and needs to be playing to improve in my opinion.couldnt have done much more when he played at the start of the season.if he cant get any match time in what in effect is a dead rubber not much chance of him getting minutes this season.

If this was an FA Cup game then I would probably play him. But not away to Borrusia Dortmund in the Champions League.

I would send a message.
Get the job done in Dortmund tonight, bounce back from the Arsenal game. To that end, play our strongest team and then, IF we get the right result, we can rest players for the last group game.

I would not gamble on winning the last game and inviting Dortmund to win tonight, by playing a weakened team. This is the Champions League, what all the top players want to play in. Winning in Dortmund (despite their current poor form) would still be an achievement.

We were so rubbish on Saturday I don't think the players need a rest, I think players need to play their way in to form and fitness. Strongest team, a win and a performance could be of tremendous psychological benefit going into a very winnable fixture list over the festive period.

Also if we win today we can rest players against APOEL.

Agree, except for Kane. No matter how minor it is, he's clearly injured.

I suppose the question is whether he is injured and needs rest or unfit from having been injured and needs to play.

It's not like he's lost match sharpness. He's only been injured for a couple of weeks. Also, I'm not doctor, but that thing on his leg on Saturday wasn't a leg warmer :D.

I personally think it's mad to risk him for a game we can actually afford to lose.

I am aware but why leave it till then. APOEL is not a given.
As said if Cant beat Apoel at home we don’t deserve to win the group. The obvious think to do is Rest players for this game.

No resting any players.

They let Arsenal walk all over them on the weekend. Strongest team possible, because the players owe it to the fans to put on a performance and win this group.

I understand all sides here. We need to win. Winning the group would be fantastic. In a perfect world, we shouldnt rest anyone. But, of course, this is not a perfect world. We have injury concerns and fitness issues to think about. Whether we push through to get guys back to top fitness or we rest them is up to Poch. Personally, i'd judge by Saturday's match.

Lloris
Aurier Sanchez Vertonghen Rose
Dier Winks
Son Alli Eriksen
Llorente

Vorm, Foyth, Trippier, Sissoko, TOB, Dembele, Kane

To me, Kane looked the least fit of the concerns on Saturday. So I think it would be prudent to rest him here. While I would be so tempted to start Trippier at RB since I have Llorente starting and he needs the service, he started on Saturday so he rotates out. Up to Aurier and Rose to provide service from out wide.

Regarding Rose, judging by Saturday, the aftermath and prior experience(admitted to in the book) there was probably a bust up between Poch and Rose. But he needs to learn from last season's thing with Walker. We need Rose. For as good as Davies has been, Rose is the best LB in the league. We cant afford to let him go to a rival. Especially not mid season.

Eric Dier is a DM and is the only fit one we have. We should play him there and go 4231 until Toby and/or Big Vic return if you dont trust Foyth instead of shoehorning Sissoko into CM and sticking with 3 CB's again.

Heart says that, but head says take any result here apart from a thumping in exchange for a win against WBA. We can't let league form slip at the moment and we have already qualified. We're going to get a good team no matter where we finish.

We can top the group by beating APOEL, which we are more than capable of doing if we really want to.

The ones that are telling us to rest all our players and use players from the under 19s in this match.
If you really think we cant win our last home game and there for win the group that way you wouldnt expect us to get further anyway.im not suggesting resting everyone but half the team is half fit anyway and is they throw up the same shit as last saturday they will get beat tonight regardless of starting 11.

Will Rose be involved?
I’ve still got a funny feeling isn’t over there, despite what Poch apparently said about him travelling.
Haven’t seen him in one picture/vid over there and seen quite a few
