Against Reading was the FIRST time i've seen him take it past a player without losing the ball. His technique is poor to average at best and this is running from full back. Playing on the wing he would be marked alot tighter and have to start get past players from a standing start which he hasn't got the ability to do in my opinion.

For me no way Walker should be considered to move further up the pitch, and I agree with this post. Even for the goal at the weekend I would put it more down to piss poor defending from the two Reading players rather than Walker doing anything outstanding. If he has space or has to run on to the ball then hes fine, as you say from standing starts he almost always never takes on the man, does some stepovers and wastes 5-10 seconds before deciding to pass it back where it came from. I am surprised more people do not see this in all honesty.

Not a bad effort today but in my opinion our passing was painfully slow primarily because we lacked balance in the midfield. Huddlestone Sandro and Dembele was what we needed.....too often Sandro ended up in possession and when he was required to do something a bit special.....instead he just about moved it on.....the main incisive balls played today were by Defoe and they were both just inside the area! The rest of the game we played largely in front of them....their aging centre backs were hardly required to turn. Dempsey didn't have a bad game but he is nothing special in terms of distribution.... with Dembele being a dribbler where was the creative passing supposed to come from? Tom is big....often slow but has a great touch and deserved half an hour today
