Oh boy

I am really worried we are to get a pasting in this one so I have decided to give the samaritans a call

They told me everything will be fine

Calling them 3 times - now that is grovelling. Man up bro. We’ve got this. Late one in the top corner does the job. You heard it here first.

Attacking does not bother me, ee are strong whoever plays in the top half.

But with their attack and them being at home Jan is a must along with Dier sitting just in front of the defence .

There's nothing wrong with playing the 4-2-3-1, it can offer just as much protection for the fullbacks as 3 at the back, as long as the wide attacking players ahead drop back to offer protection.

And Dier can always drop in for protection.

Really torn between playing 5 or 4 at the back here.

Playing 5 at the back protects our full backs from the inside runs of Liverpool's wingers and fills the space.

However, we saw against Newport that playing 5 at the back against a team that presses high can put you on the back foot with limited options to play the ball forward.

Some may argue that Eriksen would solve this as he wasn't playing in that game but then you question how exposed that would leave the midfield.

Overall their threat is from the wings not centrally so I'd go with:

Lloris
Aurier Toby Sanchez Verts Rose
Eriksen Wanyama Alli
Kane Son

Subs:
Vorm Dier Sissoko Dembele Lucas Lamela Llorente

I am not making judgement on others as this is a forum that only works with varied opinions.

But it does puzzle me that people look at upcoming games and base the current team selection on that.

Concentrate in this game, make sure we win it then worry about the selection for next game on that. That is the point of a squad.

If we beat liverpool the Arsenal games loses a little bit of significance.

Perhaps I am still a little bit too old school.

Same team as United. No reason to change anything.
Exactly. We just beat United, comfortably - who are a better team than Liverpool. And so are we. Pool will have to be at the top of their game and us to put in a Poor performance to beat us. Lost their best player, lost two of their last 3 games. COYS!

Only 4 wins in 71 away games against the scum, chavs, pool and united

Wow
While it’s true, the stats look terrible (and they are), most of those results were when we were truly terrible and mid-table. We’re a team now that is capable of beating Liverpool and Chelsea away from home. Doesn’t mean we’ll win more often than not away to the top six, as I’m pretty sure that the other top five teams, will not win the majority of their respective away to the top six games. They just like to point ours out.

You're avatar and comments reminded me of this

To the game. If we get our tactics spot on and players can maintain peak form we should get something but we really need to deny them the space in behind and I'd like us to be not as shy as we were against United in that away game.
