A waining Gerrard is infinitely better than a limited and immobile Tom Huddlestone, who will never reach Gerrards heights in the game. I haven't seen much of Sahin at Liverpool but from what I saw of his time at Dortmund he light years of Dempsey in ability.

Sahin ha showed nothing of his previous form unfortunately. I agree anything would be better than Hudd ATM, how would you feel with Parker and Moussa back? Or even Carroll?

Were praying Dembele isn't fit to start and its Huddlestone who looks out of form and very immobile.

Also, what Justin has been saying about our midfield is spot on.

Allen has been filling in for Lucas (inadequately but most defensive midfielders would fall short here), Gerrard playing where Allen would/should play and Sahin/Hendo/Shelvey playing AMC where, in most LFC fans opinion, Gerrad should be playing but isn't either because thats what he wants to do and BR hasn't got the bottle to challenge him or move him, or BR is blind and thinks that Gerrards best position which is certainly nowhere near being true.

Much improved Liverpool side. I think they break down our high line and we lose 3-1.

So what I'm reading is that you have concerns over the possbility that Liverpool, i.e. Suarez, might break down Spurs high line AVB tactics tonight. Which in turn could lead to multiple goals for Liverpool, to the point that Spurs might not win?...

Nah, Spurs are gonna stuff the bin dippers 2-1 tonight!!! COYS!!!! :chicken:

I disagree. Allen, Gerrard, Sahin is better than Sandro, Thuddlestone, Dempsey IMO

Sandro is the only one of our midfielders I would keep over theres.

I agree with Donki - Sahin hasn't done much of note, Gerrard is on the wane, and I really don't see what the fuss is about Allen. He was bought at the British player over-priced premium and he just sits there passing it 10 yards sideways and backwards. He's the definition of a water carrier, but without the tackling ability. I think he keeps things ticking sometimes, but he's very unambitious in his passing, positioning and basically never dribbles.

I also think Huddlestone gets dogs abuse on here for little reason. The man passes with either foot and does so very accurately. I don't think people pay attention to his passing just outside our area that gets a break going - if a defensive interception comes to him, he doesn't angle his body around to use a preferred foot, he gets it controlled or passed out with a first touch and we're away. I think he's probably a back-up player when Parker and Dembele are fit, but that's one hell of a back up.

Edit: cue an Allen hat-trick from mazy dribbles around our defence and Hudd with his boots on the wrong feet!
