I loved how frustrated suarez was at the lane last season as ledley had him in his pocket, he had a hissy fit at the half time whistle and got taken off after an hour

With Suarez in form, I would feel a lot safer with Verts as a CB.

Walker - Caulker - Vertonghen - Naughton
------------Sandro - Dembele
Lennon---------------------------- Bale
----------------Dempsey
------------------Defoe

No keeper? Brave.

Hi, I'm sorry, please explain how I'm being patronising. In the meantime, I'll stick you on ignore, but if you come up with a reasonable answer I'll happily change my mind. :)
Well, you were complaining on the other thread how we need a sugar daddy and don't spend enough money so I figured that all your postings about Dempsey were tongue in cheek and you were mad we signed him late in the window. If you were serious about Dempsey than I apologize but I read it in a patronizing tone.

Massive match. This week could be absolutely enormous for a boost to the top 4 of the PL. Can you imagine if we get 9 points over a week's time? Incredible. Liverpool will be key. Hope the guys are ready to play and really show what we all know they are capable of.

really really confident over the next two games, players coming back, getting used to the system and the new coaching staff I think everything will fall into place.

No point in us saying if only we had beat wigan etc because those games help the players learn for next time.

My prediction Spurs 3- 1 liverpool Im hoping for a clean sheet so if that happens I will go with 2-0 Balex2

I don't see the need for any changes, to be honest. Dembele can be brought on again, Dawson played well enough to hold his position. Dempsey is a cert. if we cut off Suarez, they have a fairly average threat and I think our midfield is better than theirs, even with our injuries.

I disagree. Allen, Gerrard, Sahin is better than Sandro, Thuddlestone, Dempsey IMO

Sandro is the only one of our midfielders I would keep over theres.

Gallas and Dembele replacing Dawson and Huddlestone. I don't wanna see Dawson dropped, but I think he only played him to mark Andy Carroll

Sahin looks promising but hasn't set the PL alight (having asked 3 Liverpool fans there now none of them would be bothered if they didnt keep him beyond his loan period), Gerrard is DONE, I am convinced of it he looks a shadow of his former self and Allen is a good player. They may have more creativity but they lack a player who is willing to continually put a foot in, especially away from home. Dempsey, on form, is much more of a goal threat than any of their midfielders, IMO.

Having said that now Gerrard will play a blinder for them tonight lol!!

A waining Gerrard is infinitely better than a limited and immobile Tom Huddlestone, who will never reach Gerrards heights in the game. I haven't seen much of Sahin at Liverpool but from what I saw of his time at Dortmund he light years of Dempsey in ability.

Neither of those is really a like for like comparison but if you read what our resident Liverpool fan Toela has to say on the matter he thinks Gerrard has lost it completely, and doesn't think Sahin will even play tonight.

The thing I liked about our last match was the improved performances from key players, and the fact that for the first time this season we made 4-2-3-1 with Dempsey in CAM, work, and work as it should. It seems to me that something finally clicked, players were taking up the right positions and making the right runs off the ball, and those on the ball were playing passes early and with intent.

What I take from that is that the difference between a successful formula and an unsuccessful one is slight. I know from my own business of building prediction models that there's rarely a breakthrough 'something' which turns an algorithm from one which breaks even into one which rakes it in, but rather some final small piece which slots into place and makes the whole machine work better. I also know from direct experience, that almost the worst thing you can do is chop and change a winning formula before you've a chance to assess whether it really is a winning formula. If you change something every week without giving it a chance to show its quality (or lack thereof), then you're no-where. I'm not adverse to making the odd small, like-for-like type change for tonight's match, bringing in an alternative CB maybe? Or FB? Upgrading Huddlestone for Carroll or preferably Dembele? But wholesale changes in which players (sometimes début or near début players) are brought in or moved to play new positions in a new set-up, while others are dropped, would be total madness. A recipe for long-term disaster.

As other have said, Dembele for Hudd would be my choice, or maybe Caroll, and maybe Vert or Gallas to CB too...? But if Dembele isn't available then the rest is minor stuff, and leaving it just as it was is also a good call imo.

Not for like for like player wise but they are positionally.

We play Sandro - DMC / Hudd - MC / Dempsey - AMC

Livepool play Allen - DMC / Gerrard - MC / Sahin - AMC
