2nd yellow so only 1 match if it was a straight red (3 matches) we would've appealed

Seriously, our squad looks really really good now.

Gone are the days of "should Fraizer Campbell start next game?" and now it's "should Jermain Defoe start next game?"

I would put out:

Gomes; Corluka, Woodgate, King, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Palacios, Huddlestone, Modric; Keane, Pavlyuchenko.

Subs: Cudicini, Dawson, O'Hara, Defoe, Bent, Zokora, Bentley.

This is all based on Jenas being injured.

Which leaves us with Alan Hutton, Gareth Bale, Fraizer Campbell and Pascal Chimbonda. If these four players can't even make the bench we are in a pretty good situation.:grin::grin::grin:

If JJ is out, how about bringing Modric into the center with Palacios and have Bale out on the left

I like that idea chrissivad well worth a try, to be honest if JJ is carrying an injury just rest him for this one it's only Newcastle so we don't need to rush him back anyway.

From Eurosport:

22% of the goals Spurs have conceded have come from corners - the highest proportion in the top division.
Spurs have had nine goals scored by substitutes this season - more than any other PL team.
Spurs have dropped only five points from winning positions - the joint-fewest.
Newcastle have only won one of their last 14 Premier League outings.
Newcastle have scored only four goals in their last seven Premier League games.
Both of Andy Carroll's Premier League away goals this season have been scored in the 81st minute.
The Magpies have drawn more games than any other side this season - 12.
Newcastle have conceded nine penalties in the top flight this season - more than any other side.
The Magpies have won the last six Premier League games in a row against Spurs, scoring 18 goals in total despite failing keep a clean sheet in any of those wins.
Obafemi Martins has scored in each of his four Premier League games against Spurs.
Newcastle have not won any of their away games against teams in the current top 10.
Opta

Not surprising to see the stat on corners, I think about 1/3 of all our goals conceded come from set pieces in general. While it looks like we've been holding on to our leads better, we've actually only been in the lead about five or so times this entire season so that could be a bit misleading.

Martins happens to be tied in third for the player who scores against us the most (Adebayor is unsurprisingly #1). Luckily he might be out with a groin strain this week. Unfortunately Carroll is 6'4" and good in the air.

That's what i'd do:

-------------Gomes-----------
Corluka---King----Woody---BAE
Lennon--Modric--Palacios--Bale
---------Pav----Keane--------

If JJ is definitely out then it at least gives us the option to see Wilson and Luka play centrally together.

Also sticking Bale on the left will give us a natural balance to the midfield, plus rewards Bale for his performance against the gooners reserves, which will hopefully galvanise the other squad players to improve as they will see Bale having a good game for the reserves and then getting promoted back to the first team.

I wouldnt have Modric in the middle, he has been more effective on the left, drifting in. Id play Huddlestone with Palacios in the middle with Lennon right, Modric left.

Pav and Keane up top

They are desperate for points at the moment, so who knows what to expect. I do believe we need to get an early goal, which may hurt their fragile confidence and allow us to push on for more. The longer the game goes on with them still in with a chance , will be at our detriment.

I hate Newcastle with a passion and would absolutely love us to thrash them on Saturday.

Realistically, this will be a tight affair and I just hope Owen doesn't score.

The best thing right now is to not change things to much, the only change I'd make from the recent 11 before the Spammers game is Pavlyuchenko in for Bent, the rest stays the same, unless JJ isn't fit, i'd still go with the usual 4 midfield, Palacios isn't still suspended though is he, I thought 2 yellows mean't 3 match ban?

Thats gonna be a selection headache for Harry, Keane is captain so he's almost a certainty to start, Pavlyuchenko won us the game last week and deserves a start now and Defoe is chumping at the bits to get back and according to Harry is in top form already, so what do you do?

I think Palacios was 1 yellow card away from picking up a 3 game ban before the Blackburn game, so as far as I'm aware, he's gone for another 3 games.

Not 100% on that though!
