Me to.

We have the strength in this side, its almost too much power and not enough brain a the moment! I know it can take time for players to familiarise themselves with another's playing style etc and that has implications for how we function as a collective....but we desperately require more guile so we can start providing some real service for Soldado.

I think we will see more from Chadli with a player like Eriksen, he got behind and to the byline against Swansea really well and i expect him to step up even more with an intelligent passer feeding him.

Good point indeed.

I think a lot of you underestimate Eriksen's qualities. I would put him straight in Against Norwich. Lloris-Walker,Kaboul,Verthongen,Rose-Sandro,Paulinho-Townsend,Eriksen,Chadli-Soldado

This or maybe Vlad for Kaboul depending on how Kaboul is pulling up.

Personally, I don't think Chadli deserves to be dropped. That team looks too lightweight in the final third for me. I think swap Eriksen for Chadli (with Eriksen replacing Ade on the bench) and swap Dembele with Sandro. This will stop us from getting bullied and if we still lack that creative spark in the second half we can take off one of the 3 behind the striker and bring on Eriksen then.

It's a tough one for me the more I think about it, last year we saw a lot of disjointed performances because we had Dempsey or Sigurdsson playing the LWF role, now we have a player that is suited to that role in Chadli, but I really want to see Eriksen/Holtby/Lamela. In my view, we are nowhere near fluid enough (yet) to play with a 3 that float behind a striker, so for me it has to be one of Eriksen or Holtby in the 10 role. Considering we seem to see Holtby as a 6 rather than 10, I think it will be Eriksen. Also, I don't think we should kid ourselves here, if Daws is fit he will play, he is the skipper and AVB wont have the excuse for saying he is tired from International duty.

Something like:

Lloris
Walker Dawson Vertonghen Rose
Sandro Paulinho
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Soldado

How does the team look too light weight? Also why would Dembele and Paulinho get bullied?

The team lacks fluency in the final third. Lamela/Holtby/Eriksen should have the freedom to express themselves while Dembele and Paulinho sweep up behind them.

@spurs_bear. I honestly believe Dawson will be dropped. If Kaboul is fit i expect him to start against Norwich. With the arrival of Chriches, give it a couple months Dawson will be lucky to be on the bench!

Perfect, wouldn't change a thing.

I can remember e few seasons ago watching United on Sky, and they mentioned the bench, and how that on it's own would scare the opposition.

IMO we have the strongest bench in the PL, maybe not first team (although v close), but who could name a more formidable bench?

I'm sorry but look at Chelsea's bench and Chelsea's first team from the first matches this season and it will show we are not the strongest by far...

I think Dawson will play. We need a Captain on the pitch to direct operations, and like it or not, Dawson is the most experienced in that role. At the moment it's vital that we have a focal point and a link between AVB and what goes on on the pitch. No good having all Chiefs and no Indians.

I'm just not convinced that having a captain who can't necessarily carry out those operations is a particularly good idea.

I love Daws' work ethic and bravery, but we have better centre backs at the club in Kaboul and Vertonghen, who both have the ability to communicate AVB's instructions.

I would not say by far, depth across the pitch is where we are gaining. Defensively I would say we have greater depth than Chelsea. If the players play to their potential as they should I would say that we are not that far behind in midfield, and we are probably one striker behind.

I am not being delusional, but I would say that Eriksen could prove to be a better option than Willian will prove to be.

Perhaps I was a little premature with my statement, but I do not think that we are that far behind at this moment in time, and the potential could surpass

I won't neg rate you but I simply don't agree. Why have Dawson because he's the best shouter/motivator/communicator yet not the best in his position? We play a high line, something he never holds (Concentration? Worried about his own lack of pace?) and he's simply too prone to mistakes. Kaboul and Verts are easily our strongest CB's and clearly, from the way he eulogises about them, AVB's preferred partnership.

Btw suggesting that Verts or Kaboul couldn't do a captains role is ludicrous. And did you mean all Indians and no chiefs?

Chelsea, though it would've more scary had they retained Lukaku.

Having a potential bench of Schwarzer, Willian, Mata, Torres/Eto'o, Azpilecueta, Essien & Mikel among others.
