Smith is on loan at MK Dons unless I have missed him being recalled? So he wont feature, Fredericks didnt do too badly in Russia at Right Back, infact I would say he was one of our better performers so deserves another run out assuming Corluka is injured.

I think Townsend should get a chance at left wing rather than left back, so I suggest Bassong at left back with Livermore centre back again but can switch to a 3-5-2 even.

Should really try to win this one to kill off the group, then send the kids out for the away tie against Shamrock.

Depends a lot on who is fit and well. Carroll and Townsend were conspicuously absent from the Charlton friendly and the bench today; Gio and Falque played midweek but were not on the bench; Corluka is apparently ill; and Pav presumably has had a flare up of his back problem.

Don't know if Mason is eligible to play; can't think why he wouldn't be.

Harry might not want to play Sandro and Defoe if he is not sure Modders and VdV will be back.

Not sure who he will go for from Gomes and Cudicini.

Gallas, Bassong, Livermore and Pienaar are the only nailed on starters.

That's a pretty good line-up. I'd have Modders (if feeling ok) and, perhaps, Lennon on the bench in case we need something in the last 30 minutes.

Oh, and Gomes to start. 'arry has been alternating the goalies so it's his turn!

I think before our stunning run of form i'd have been all for taking this very seriously to make sure we get through. The way things are at the moment however I don't want to risk any of our 1st 11. Winning and losing both have upsides.

Under no circumstances should Defoe and Pavlyuchenko be paired together up front in a 442. Other than that, I wouldn't go much different than our last game in Russia.
