Worked well against West Ham.
Ha, Well 1-2 is better then 0-3
Worked well against West Ham.
First Tom Daley, now him? Sport is getting progressive, I like it.kaboul's out.
Made this for our West Ham team, but cos of Injuries.
Swap Chadli with Townsend and swap wings
Capoue in for Sandro
Remember that the one thing avb did well was away games and the reason for that was ball retention. Work hard yes but the key to away success is either counter attacking well or retaining the ball well.We are away
We are playing a counter attacking side (Spam / Citeh/Bidippers)
It is more about Who is fit enough to play Who can play best against such a side
Eriksen needs to play as does Soldado (Ade on the bench to come on ) otherwise the team needs to work hard first and foremost

I see Lamela is in almost all the training photo's today. I am going to take that to mean he is going to start on Sunday.

The formation we fielded against West Ham came as a surprise; Tim is not a 4-4-2 man, his preferred is formation is 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Doubltess the decision was partly tactical; there is no point setting up to contest midfield with a team who habitually by-pass it; but I suspect also there was a desire to accommodate Adebayor. Reports suggest he has been impressive in training and the board understandably want the club’s highest earner reintegrated into the team. Manu has said that he has used his lay off to practise shooting, and an Adebayor who is motivated and can find the net is undroppable. The Togolese’s performance against the Hammers has therefore left Tim with a dilemma: does he persist with 4-4-2 or does he play Manu as a lone front runner at the expense of Defoe and Soldado? As a company man Tim understands the importance of seeing a return on a £26 million striker, and apparently he also rates Defoe highly.
Barring further injuries the back five picks itself: Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Chirches, Rose. Even if Kaboul is fit, his form to date does not merit automatic inclusion. That is a strong and balanced defence that give us a solid platform we have mostly lacked this season. Dawson has come in for a lot of criticism, but a deeper defensive line should suit him, and the aerial bombardment from West Ham has demonstrated why in the Premiership you need a player like Dawson (and why it was a mistake to sell Caulker).
In centre midfield I am hoping Sherwood starts either Sandro or Capoue alongside Holtby. That should be sufficient to allow us to control the midfield and set the tempo. Dembele’s hip must surely by now need a rest.
On the right Tim will recognise the need to get a return on our £30 million record signing, but Lamela was very much a Baldini project, and if reports are to be believed Tim was sceptical. I would therefore expect him to go safety first with Lennon, particularly as Soton can be dangerous down the left. On our left, the injury to Sherwood’s protégé Townsend is a blow, but if Tim does go 4-4-2 he could potentially shift Eriksson out to the left. The Dane by all accounts is a Sherwood project, and I suspect Tim will be keen to play him.
Manu likes to drift left, so he and Eriksson could interchange fairly fluidly, with Rose acting as a wing back and the holding midfield dropping back into defence when Rose marauds forward; while Lennon would have Walker’s back on the right.
So:
Lloris
Walker Dawson Chirches Rose
Holtby Capoue
Lennon Adeboyer Erikkson
Soldado
Subs; Friedel, Fryers, Kaboul, Sandro, Chadli, Lamela, Defoe
An on form Carr and Anderton would also walk into the side. A shame we did not have Sherwood, Redknapp and Ferdinand until they were past their prime.
Winning! Please, let this happen.
