I know this is completely off topic, but i would love Poch to go full power mode and play Dier, Wanyama, Dembele and Sissoko as a CM 4 away to Chelsea, that would please me on so many levels.

The most interesting talking point about this match is who starts v Stoke and who starts v Monaco in CL? FBs especially. We could see Tripper and Davies in this one, but Trippier hasn't been on the bench, so...

Apologies to others that have posted it earlier, but this lineup reminded me of the useful flexibility of Sissoko. If he can learn the way Poch wants him to play and have greater consistency and earn starts, then we do have the flexibility to play Lamela in the center, and that is extremely valuable.

Yes, agreed. Remember that Sissoko played in this position (on the right of the attacking three) for France at Euro 2016 and was highly effective. With regards to Lamela I think playing in the centre of the 3, or as a no. 10 will suit him.

Wanyama has outplayed dier in DM role for first 3 games and so many still wanting to drop Wanyama. Unbelievable.

To be honest I don't think having another player who plays the same role next to him has helped him even if they have been given different instructions and maybe vice versa in respect of Wanyama but I'm saying that more strongly towards Dier because I've seen a lot more of the player he can be than I have of Wanyama.

I'm waiting for Dier to be partnered with someone who ventures forward more before judging his form. Dier sitting in front of Toby and Jan last season was one of the main things that made us as strong as we were so it's not too unbelievable that people want to have him remain in there ahead of Wanyama IMO.

Strong bench; looked like a really weak one at the start of the season(y)

Why are people dropping dier to play Sissoko at dm? He isn't a dm or cm and he certainly isn't better there than dier. Sissoko doesn't solve the dembele problem and I really wish that people would stop trying to make him do so.

I very much doubt that the starting 11 will change much at all except for Lloris coming in for vorm if fit.

If you noticed, I liked your post, but I will answer your quip.

I think a lot of the folks that have selected Dier, myself included, would agree that Wanyama has been a better destroyer, I don't think most would have argued that going into the TW when the rumor came about. Vic is a mother fucking beast and can gobble up a midfield.

But, Eric is a better footballer. I believe that is why people are picking Dier over Wanyama. This is how I see it:

Tackling: Wanyama
Marking: Push
Touch: Dier
Passing (Short and Long): Dier
Leadership: Dier
IQ: Dier

So for that reason alone, I think you see why people are selecting Dier. He is a mother f'ing boss that has personally took on the mentality of Poch. You can see his desire in his eyes and the same fire as Poch.

Lastly, I think people want to have Dier in top form when Dembele gets back. With Dier and Dembele you have plenty of cover and more fluidity than you would with Wanyama and Dembele.

That is my armchair analysis.
