Team to play the scum?

Bit of a dilemma.. injuries/knocks from today aside, what team would you pick? We were very good today but we were also quite open - something we cant afford against them lot. Same team or not?

I would want to keep the same team so far as possible. But I think we need a bit more bite in the middle. So I think I'll go for something like this:

Gomes
Hutton Gallas Kaboul Bale
THudd
Modric ... Jenas
VDV
Pav Crouch

Defoe

I think that would be my preference as well, though putting Kaboul @ RB and Gallas @ CB would also be an option

However fit Defoe is, he isn't going to walk straight back into the starting 11, let alone against the scum away.
IF he is on the bench I reckon he'll be on after 65 minutes, if needed.

Wouldn't mind going with an as you were today team selection. No need for changes. Lennon being fit complicates things though. How do we accomodate Lennon, Bale, Modric, VDV into the same midfield AND play 2 up front?

I'd be staggered if Defoe played.

As for the team, it's seven days away. Let's wait and see.

Gomes, Hutton, Gallas, Kaboul, BAE, Lennon, JJ, Modric, Bale, vdV, Pav.

If Lennon isn't fit, Bentley. Between JJ and Palacios for CM and between Crouch and Pav up front but JD will come on 2nd half and score 12.

Yeah let's go "4-4-2" .. that's worked the past 68 times we've tried winning away to any of the "Big 4"

Depends whos fit really...Hudd etc...anybody think King could be fit for it?

I mean Newcastle played 4-4-2 and won, but thats not to say I think we should - or shouldn't.

A large part of Newcastle's success came from their DM (Tiote) got close to Fabergas and didn't give him much opportunity to influence the game.

Would love to see Wilson come in and get stuck in if Hudd isn't availabile. But then again I want Jenas to play for the energy and ground covering he gives us. Perhaps BC's 4-2-3-1 is the way to go, but personally I hope Hudd is availabile for us.

Really depends who is fit, but I really fancy Crouch up against Squillacci and Koscielny. Almost like a CL tie for him.

And because he always scores against the filth...

Well last season, the 1st 3 games against the top 3 saw us play 4-5-1 against Man U cfc and Arse and lost 3-1 3-0 3-0

2nd set of 3 games we played 4-4-2 and we beat both Arse and cfc 2-1 lossing to man u 3-1

Im not suggesting we play a system yet, as we need to see who is available, But i would suggest 4-4-2 is an option. In my mind if we play a defensive game, a play not to lose, we will in fact lose, and i would even predict we will concede 3 goals...again.

Spurs are at "our" best when we take the game forward. not trying to shut up shop, our defense, the players we have, are not "the bus" more the F1
