I suspect he means drop back into Dele's shadow striker/#9.5 role not drop back to the bench with Llorente leading the line. Not sure how much Llorente can play in a week but with our high frequency of matches rotation of Llorente/Kane/Son will be crucial.

Dortmund have a very good defense and have not yet conceded in Bundesliga this season so whatever formation we take up will likely be to pull them out of their element. Not sure Llorente will do that but also hard to play Kane Wednesday and Swansea at the weekend.
Ah yes, my bad. Didn't read it properly.

I'd mirror the same formation we had Saturday at Everton with a bit of rotation. Kane up top with a diamond right behind and defensive bucket around the attackers. Dembele at the base of the diamond and Eriksen playing at the top. Pushing Dembele up would really help our press and possession in key areas. We don't have to worry as much about being countered now with Sanchez essentially playing a sweeper and Toby/Verts dropping back when we lose the ball.

----------------------- Lloris----------------------

----------Toby-----Sanchez------Verts-------

-------------------------Dier-----------------------
Aurier------------------------------------Davies
---------------------Dembele---------------------
----------Sissoko-------------Son---------------
----------------------Eriksen----------------------
-----------------------Kane------------------------
If we can sneak that team past the ref and UEFA then I fancy our chances!

You do know that most EPL pitches where we play away, like Everton on Sunday, are roughly the same dimensions if not the same as Wembley's? Dont buy into the media led public opinion hype and create a problem where there is none.
So 1 win in about 13 or so isn't a problem? Of course it is and it's naive to suggest otherwise.

And it's not just the extra space, although that definitely plays it's part - we're naturally more conservative away from home with our pressing, for example, compared to the way we 'should' be at home - but there is also undoubtedly a mental hurdle for the players at Wembley. We've been so dominant elsewhere, at the Lane and on our travels, that t his is impossible to deny. There absolutely is a problem at Wembley and it's represented in our form there compared to our form elsewhere.

Why is everyone harping about only the size? It's the whole place, atmosphere etc. If it was just pitch size there would be no away game syndrome for any team

Well there is one very simple way to start addressing this problem and that is by winning our next three games in quick succession !!!! We have a chance to banish these doubts so let's grab this negativity by the scruff of the neck Dave Mackay style and and kick ass metaphorically speaking !!!! COYS put this shit to bed !!! Oh and while we're at it, let's carry on with the demolition job by rounding off the three quick Wembley fixtures by knocking West Ham into the middle of the week after that and we will find that all this stuff about playing on bigger pitches will be dispensed to the past, and the media will jump on some other bandwagon elsewhere.

It's clearly nothing to do with the size,as side 15 pitches in EPL are same size as Wembley well 1m narrower.Considering our recent away form it totally negates size of pitch argument.Maybe it's just the general atmosphere,or maybe it's just an anomaly.I think most would agree the games we've drawn we've deserved to win and the loses deserved at least a draw.Imo it will be get better,it's never gonna be WHL.Always said top 4 and Cup win would be a great season.Hiwever having seen everyone play ,if we could get up running at Wembley the title is on.
As for team it picks itself.

Well it actually doesn't when you look at all the figures from last season, instead of a select few.

In 2016/17 our away form was only the 5th best in the league and we won less than half our away games last season. You also have to take into account style of play. When we play away from home we're naturally more conservative compared to at home, resulting in a lot less energy used in the pressing game. Whereas at home, which includes Wembley, we press more, higher and subsequently become more menatally and physically fatigued, two factors which were at play in both late goals we've conceded there this season.

The size of the pitch absolutely plays a role, the extent of that role is undetermined though, and perhaps impossible to specifically quantify as there is undoubtedly a psychological factor for the team when playing at Wembley, which is far more intangible.

Likely same formation against Everton, with Son, Lorente as impact players.

--------------Loris-----------

Toby----- Sanchez-------Vert

Aurier-------Dier---------Davies

Sissoko---Dembele---Eriksen

--------------Kane-----------

Wish we had Lamela in the bench... and hope Dembele make an impact as a advance player. Only worry is cover for Dier and CB in this formation.

If you had bothered to read the preceding posts you would have seen that I was answering a post that was actually arguing the size and dimensions of the pitch, that is why we were "harping on". If you are going to "harp on" about the atmosphere, then we as fans are part culpable as we have 90% of the crowd and should make it count (no pun intended) irrespective of where we are playing. Its just so easy to make excuses dont you think?
