Youhave to agree that Chadli and Townsend are not working at all which makes me curious as to why Lamela has had a spell. He is a much better prospect than either of those two. I'd push Rose out on the wing. He cant possibly do worse than Chadli or Townsend. Mason and Benteleb have been poor. One of these should stand down for Dembele or Paulinho. Eriksen has been anonymous recently and needs to impose himself more or get benched.

Defence is an issue. Walker out and Chiriches in. Fazio in for Dier. Verts gets a reprieve. Dier has been shaky and needs a spell.

I think we should line up with Vorm; Chiriches, Fazio, Verts, Davies; Benteleb, Dembele; Lamela, Paulinho/Eriksen, Rose; Kane

According to Physioroom Eric Dier is injured:

E Dier - Black Eye - no return date

Black Eye, interesting reason to be injured. Maybe trying to avoid the U21s again :D

I'm not his biggest fan but I'd like to see Lamela brought back in, Townsend hasn't done enough to keep his place, getting the hook two games in a row.

Several have mentioned it, and frankly I do like the idea of playing Rose at LW as we no longer have the midweek rotations. I feel for Chadli with his recent loss, but IMO he's contributed even less than Townsend lately aside from his wonderful finish against Swansea. He's just not a winger as is, and he appears to have really struggled to reintegrate since returning to the squad.

Rose presses hard and well, and is arguably our single most athletic player. He would provide some much needed stretch and disruption of organization for the opposition. With Davies in behind, he'd have the freedom to really press at the opposition and alleviate the staleness our other attacking mids typically play with in this overly congested system.

Either Rose or Townsend then on the left to induce a bit of stretch, and Lamela on the right to work through the gaps.

On Lamela though, you have to wonder what may be going on. Not only has his time continued to decrease, but then didn't even get brought on against Leicester when we needed a goal. I know many won't like it, but I think there's a good chance he's set to be off this summer, and can't help but wonder if he even already has a sincerely interested pursuer and hence why Poch is trying to get the other wingers as much time as possible.

Just attack down the wings. Wish we had a right footed winger who just attacked the final third.

I may start to gather some doubts about Poch if he starts the same team or starts Chadli/Townsend after their recent performances.

I get peoples theory about maybe he wants to give them the chance to redeem themselves for playing shit in last match, but essentially that would make them undroppable. Play shit, I'll start you so you can redeem yourself. Play well, I can't drop you.

I don't know if this team would actually work but I'd like to see it tried.

I think we need to persist with Dier and Vertonghen as I think, with a bit of protection in front of them, they can be a good partnership.

Whilst Walker has been poor, I really don't think we have a viable alternative at the moment unless we dip into the youth squad.

Bentaleb and Mason isn't working as a two in the middle, so we should add Stambouli to the mix to try and have someone in there who can actually defend. Mason can then play further forward where I think his pressing game would be more effective.

On the 'wing' I can't really see any justification for picking any of Townsend, Chadli or Lamela so why not give Dembele a chance there? He can't be any worse than the others have been recently, and he has played there with reasonable success before.

The main issue would be a lack of width, but if we actually had a midfield with a bit of defensive nous, then that would give Walker and Rose a bit more scope to provide that width.

Obviously won't happen though. I imagine that we will just persist with the same XI.

Really hoping for big changes either in who starts or in trying 4-3-3.

Hoping for this:

Lloris
Vlad Fazio Vertonghen Rose
Paulinho Bentaleb
Lamela Dembele Eriksen
Kane

Subs: Vorm, Dier, Walker, Mason, Chadli, Townsend, Adebayor

I would prefer a cohesive team performance with people implementing Pochs tactics;

For that reason I want Dembele and Lamela to come in, both come under a lot of criticism individually for their performance but I care more about us as a unit functioning. Those two players give us a better chance of doing that by following the aggressive press, tracking runners and showing for the ball more regularly than Townsend and Chadli have.

I will caveat the criticsm of Chadli with my opinion that he has been effective player for a large part of the season, but it isn't happening at the moment and his work rate etc isnt good enough to cover up for poor form.

I think Bentaleb & Eriksen could use a rest and I want to see Stambouli given a chance and try Lamela in AMC. Also, want to see how Fazio and Dier do together.

Walker Dier Fazio Davies
Stambouli Mason
Dembele Lamela Rose
