Lamela for Alli.. that should be it for me.. just nice Lamela's suspension is over.. I think he will be very up to this game..

Son and Lamela energies will be important to keep the intensity to our intention.. and that will allow Eriksen and Dembele to show their flair.. OMG, can't wait.. this could be the best starting XI for me, all well balanced lineups..

My worry is that Lamela picks up an early yellow, such is his enthusiasm.

Has anyone watched Chelsea in the last few weeks/month? I haven't seen a game of theirs for a while.

Have they been unlucky or really just playing like turd? Is willian their biggest threat these days?

I'd actually bring Mason in for Alli and Lamela in for Son.

Lloris
Walker - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
Dier - Mason
Lamela - Dembele - Eriksen
Kane

might put davies in for rose, but son comes on for lamela in the 60th minute or so...

OP has it down. Son has the legs over Mason so should start. Mason is a better passer so *hopefully* we can bring him on once defending a lead where we need to play a bit of possession.

Dembele centre mid is a total no brainer as is Lamela to start.

Still playing quite well imo. just a few key players are out of form or playing half assed

Be aa really hard game

Yes. Anyone who sees us as favourite's should temper expectations. We are still facing the current prem champions with one of the best managers in the world and some of the best players in the world.

Mason in for Alli. Lamela ahead of Son to help Walker out with Hazard, but happy enough if Son gets the nod.

Bit worried about Lamela and Son together in the midfield, as both have tendency to give the ball away in dangerous positions through being over elaborate

Mourinho will know we could big trouble for them especially with our pace. So he might park the bus.

Hazard seems to be back on form so that could be problem too.

Should be a top top game.

Whilst to a certain degree I'd like to see us go for it with Eriksen, Lamela and Son all playing, I think we need to be sensible and make sure we win the midfield battle. Whilst Chelsea have been poor this season, we can't give the likes of Fabregas space, so I'd like to keep the sort of three man midfield we've been playing recently.

So for me it's:

Lloris

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose

Dier Mason

Lamela Dembele Eriksen

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Wimmer, Trippier, Son, Bentaleb, Onomah, N'Jie

I really hope we beat them in this game. I'm dreading them beating us and it being the start of their upturn in fortunes. It's exactly the kind of thing that would have happened in the past.

As a few others are saying Lamela and Mason in for Son and Alli.

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier Mason
Lamela Dembele Eriksen
Kane

I actually would have gone with this even if Alli wasn't suspended.

There should only be one change IMO, so it's a question of Lamela or Mason in for Alli. We might get a clue about that in midweek. Although neither or both may play at Quarabag and we'll be none the wiser. It wouldn't surprise me if in midweek we have a totally different back five with maybe 2 of our regular midfield/forwards starting.

It is a tough decision to keep out one of Son, Mason and Lamela, all other places are totally safe, just depending on fitness.
Keeping out Son or Lamela would give us some real threat from the subs bench, but them two with Eriksen worked pretty well before.
Depending on Thursdays outcome maybe. Wouldn't be annoyed with any decision that will be made.

One change,Mason for Alli ...dropping Son would be madness.

'Madness' is a bit much isn't it?

We're talking about putting in Lamela who wasn't exactly shabby before he got his suspension.

Personally I'd be happy with either, but don't think Son's performance on Sunday was streets ahead from what we've seen from Lamela at times this season (and I say that as someone who is deeply skeptical of Lamela generally).

Ok Madness was abit ott....i couldn't be asked to edit.

Our best performance of the season last sunday, so no player should be dropped.....that would be madness.... i did it again.

this is the team for me. mind you i love son, but we need lamela more in this game because of his defensive ability. on top of that, son is a better attacking option off the bench than lamela. lamela has no where near the attacking impact son brings against tired legs. much better to let lamela start, defend well, do not fucking concede first, and if we cant break the dead lock. time for son to go in and win it for us

No way Mason over Son (and I don't think Son is as good as some here make him out to be)...We didn't start beating Chelsea until Mason was forced off for Dembele last season.

he went off after like 10 minutes ... and i'm not really sure how much relevance that match now has anyway. people seem to have forgotten how well mason was playing before his injury. maybe this will jog their memories -
