keane on the left is stupid, he's bad enough up front at the moment let alone out of position.

2-0 chelsea for me.

We are going to need a bit more omph in midfield seeing as corluka played as DM before he moved to ManC, I would go for,

Gomes
Hutton-King-Bassong-BAE
Lennon-Corlika-Palacios-Kronky
Defoe-Keane

Oh god, that Sky Sports link is a clear indication Keane will be playing Left mid.

STOP FOOLING YOURSELF HARRY HE CAN'T PLAY THERE, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DROP HIM.

Unless it's in his contract of course..(insert conspiracy theories here..)

I'm not sure that oomph is a word that associates that well with Charlie.

In truth didn't Charlie actually play there once for Man City?

I dont like Keane on the left either. However, is everyone forgetting how well he has done on the left against Chelsea in the past? I'm gonna give Harry the benefit of the doubt because he's been in the game a long time.

1 game and although he made a goal he actually didn't play that well and he didn't start there.

If Harry insists on playing Keane on the left in Modric's absence, which pretty much everyone seems to hope he won't, it's not clear why we ever bought Kranjcar. It's a bit of a Chimbonda type buy...is he represented by Wille McKay?

Putting Keane at LM is like playing with a 3 man midfield against Chelsea's 5, we'll get mauled. If the Hudd is also playing it's going to be Wilson vs. the Chelsea midfield.

I agree with this, I don't think either should play.

I think you are re-writing history. I know there was a major difference of opinion on the site, at the time, but he was rated MoTM by a substantial number of posters (yes. me included); more than any of the other players. Actually the cross for Lennon's winner was a bit lucky as it took a deflection.

That, however, was one game three years ago. Keane was in far better form then than anything he has shown in the past season. Personally, I would drop him but I suspect that Harry will play him on the left of a 5 man midfield. Hope, I'm wrong.

Rewriting history, no. A difference of opinion, yes.

King and Dawson were enormous that day!

At the moment JJ & Wilson are head and shoulders our best CM partnership

Lots of us in here know it and so does Harry, i think!

So unless Harry grows some bollox Crouch will be back on the bench and it wil be back to the little and little show which doesnt (hasnt & never will) work

Gomes
Charlie
Bass
Ledley
BAE
Lennon
JJ
Wilson
Kran
Keano
JD

I agree with your team, but don't worry having no bollox, he has no problem leaving players out, and he has told them if they send their agent to contact Levy about it, they will be on the bench for the next game.

You say Harry has no problem leaving players out but seriously how does Keano start ahead of Crouch when the Defoe-Crouch partnership works ten times better than the Keano-Defoe one

Add that to the fact that Keane has been no better than ordinary for quite a while now and Crouch has done very well since his arrival on his limited appearances

No brainer for me but I'm sure Keane will start

I've got a feeling we will line up something like this:

With the ball:

____________Gomes__________

Charlie__Bassong___King___BAE

___________Wilson___________

_________Jenas_______Kranjcar

Lennon______________________

_________Defoe____Keane______

When Chelsea are in possession in think the midfield will compress and Keane will drop in on Boswinga

__________Wilson___________

Lennon__Jenas__Kranjcar__Keane

__________ Defoe______________

Don't think there is much point playing Crouch up top, he is exactly the sort of player Terry just loves playing against, and with it being at their place we aren't likely to get much from the ref. Much better to try and counter attack with pace.

Based on what exactly? What a stupid comment to make.

Crouch has done very well? Maybe when he came on against Birmingham, but has been ordinary apart from that. Keane has 3 assists for defoe and goal, and his workrate and movement actually allows the team to play football and keep the ball, rather than the long ball game that we seem to adopt when crouch is in the team.

No brainer for me but I'm sure Keane will start
No brainer for me - Keane has to start if we want to play attacking footy and win the game.

He doesn't have 3 assists, and 1 goal in 5 games isn't exactly pulling up any trees.

If Keane plays on the left wing were finished IMO there is nothing he offers there...i'd rather put Defoe on the left with Keane up front on the last defender. At least Defoe would be cutting on to his right foot having shoots on goal.

1 goal in 5 games doesn't sound great. But add in the 2 assists (memory isn't what it used to be) and then also what he adds to our team off the ball with movement, attitude, and teh way he has been spreading the ball from the hole, and his contribution then starts to take shape.
Strikiers aren't only about goals (ask Emile), its what they add to the team - and Keane adds a lot to this team, even if not obviously visible.
