We're playing Fulham instead.

Hugo
Aurier - Toby - Dier - Reguillon
Sissoko -- PEH
Bergwijn --- Ndombele -- Son
Kane

Subs: Vinicius, Bale, Lamela, Tanganga, Davies, Lucas, Dele, Winks, Hart

I'm happy that Son, Kane, PEH and Ndombele got a break against Marine. Going into the rest of the season, Jose will need to trust the entire squad and rotate when he can.

Just give us the 3 points.
This is a really difficult situation, the safety of the players is #1. However if we by not playing, it effects our chances, that is not fair.
If Villa can play last Friday in the FA Cup, then they should fulfill their game against us on Wednesday with the negative tested players.
To have 2 games postponed and another pl game postponed due to our involvement in the Carabao Cup final is to much.
We could play Fulham on Wednesday or even this Tuesday!!
The PL have had plenty of time to make a decision!

Team selection should be the same who started against Leeds if we play Villa.

i really think this is the game, especially based off tonight’s performance where jose should try a front three of kane son and vinicius, kane in just behind with son and vini ahead just screams goals to me

that being said, a big case for dele starting could also be made, was also excellent tonight ( albeit against weak opposition) but his confidence from that and what he could gain from a game against a possibly heavily weakened villa side could hopefully kickstart a much stronger second half of the season for him

It will be postponed tomorrow or Tuesday which is a disgrace! Premier league should have moved the Fulham game to Wednesday but nope

It will be postponed just hours before kick-off imo. The FA tends to hold out til the very last day to see if the teams are able to go

Health and safety is most important so it is probably wise to postpone the match, the devil in me would like to face a weakend Villa side though if the ones involved are negative. :cautious:

In the unexpected case we play:

------------------Lloris--------------
Aurier-Alderweireld-Dier-Reguilon
----------Winks----Hojbjerg--------
--Son-----Ndombele-------Dele----
-----------------Kane----------------

Subs: Hart, Rodon, Tanganga, Davies, Sissoko, Bergwijn, Lucas, Vinicius, Bale

Talksport just said we could be playing Fulham and not Villa on Wed

Just heard that too. However, if the remaining concern over Villa is their inability to prepare for a game on Wednesday (with some players now available), couldn’t Fulham argue the same - at present they’re not preparing for a game at all!

I think the issue with Villa is that most of the first team squad have been self isolating and not doing any proper training. Fulham may not have been preparing for a match against us, but they have at least had access to their training ground and have been training ahead of the FA Cup match against QPR and the EPL match against Chelsea.

You’d also like to believe that this isn’t too contentious for Fulham and that they would’ve been warned that the previous postponement may lead to a re-scheduled fixture at short notice.

You’re right - I would like to believe what you’ve suggested in that last paragraph but do any of us have any faith in the EPL to have looked that far ahead seeing as they seem to be making this up as they go along? Whatever the plan is, surely Spurs, Villa and Fulham need to be informed this afternoon at the very latest.

I have zero faith in the Premier League but the fact that a fixture switch has even been mentioned gives me faint hope that common sense may actually prevail for a change (particularly where we’re concerned). I fully expected a postponement which would right royally shaft us, but the Fulham game replacing the Villa fixture would be a good outcome.

Fingers crossed this comes to fruition!

Fulham will kick up a fuss because they weren't told before the Cup game which would have affected selection/training and we'll end up playing no-one on Wednesday and having a congested schedule later in the year.
