I’ve got mates who’ve played in levels of the ninth tier and they basically live in the pub and the bookies when not playing or working. Marine are much closer to that level than ours. Our under 23’s and Under 18’s could beat them.

It’s not about giving him game time it about avoiding using anyone else. Give it Lucas since he’s played the least recently out of our wide-players or someone from the academy if Gedson isn’t sticking around for the game.

Never be disrespectful to these teams of course it should be a walk in the park but if I was them I would be running a tractor over the pitch turning off the heating and the hot water in the dressing room and making this as physical as they can in modern football

Played a couple of non league teams in the cup that I remember Margate Marlow and Altrincham (they took us to a replay) these games are horrible we are on a hiding to nothing and Ive seen us lose at Port Vale Bradford and Notts County to say pick a strong side you can make 5 subs and no matter that they are a pub side give them an inch and it could get bloody hard - Newport very nearly beat us recently so people saying play the kids no no no

I may get egg on my face but I just don’t see it. Don’t think people appreciate just how far down the ladder Marine are. You mention Newport. Newport are 4 divisions above them. They’re nowhere close to even being on their level. The first teamers who need minutes (Rodon, Vinicius etc) and ones who aren’t being used in other competitions (Dele, Gedson etc.) along with some of the u23s should win without getting out of first gear. Not having Kane or Son or anyone in and around the first XI touching the pitch when it’ll most likely be in horrendous condition and there’s the risk of one of Marines players having a rush of blood and wanting to take them out to have a story to tell.
