Only 3 days away so thought I would guage peoples early opinions

Friedel
Walker
Kaboul
Gallas
BAE
Kranjcar
Modric
Sandro
Bale
Defoe
Adebayor

If Defoe doesnt make it then id bring in Pienaar on the right and Niko off Adebayor. Bassong for Kaboul if he doesnt as well. Think Parker needs a rest and Sandro is playing well so would be quite happy with that side.

I think Parker definately needs a rest. Have him on the bench if we are struggling to keep the ball in midfield but in a 433 the above team should have enough to win. Pienaar on the bench and make it clear to both him and Kranjcar that with Lennon and VDV out this is their chance to make a claim for that spot.

Parker----Modric

Walker-----Kranjcar-----Bale

Adebayor

Would be stunned if King plays this 1, never know though! Also why not play Walker and Corluka the other way round? Corluka plays RM for his country and Walker could over lap him quite easily.

SSN were reporting earlier that kaboul had also injured his hamstring during the warm up

Friedel

Walker Gallas Kaboul (or Bassong) BA-E

Krancjar Sandro Modric Bale

Defoe Adebayor

Subs: Cudicini, Rose, Bassong (or Livermore), Parker, Pienaar (or Mason), Townsend, Pav.

If Defoe is unfit I would play Krancjar in the whole and start Townsend. Please, please don’t start Pav – he is for emergency use only.

This formation looks like it would give us a lot more width than the other formations in this thread

Gallas for King then is an easy swap.

I've never seen Corluka play there. I've seen him as a DM, but RM? Interesting. To me moving Walker forwards is no problem - like Bale it might turn out to be his better position. Walker started his career as a forward after all.

Krancjar is usually horrible on the right. Falque is more left sided but struggled there at Bari apparently.

I like both Kranjcar and Falque, but would play one as a #10 just behind Ade (straight swap for Rafa), then bring in a proper wide player like Walker or Townsend.
