Sanchez—-Dier——Davies

Royal——Skipp—-Winkinho—Dele—Reguilon

Kane——Son

I think we’ll probably play the 3-4-3 against palace though and it’ll only be games where we think we need more control in the middle that we’ll go 3-5-2 but I’d still like to see Winks and Dele get a deserved start again. Feel like the guys that stepped up and performed can get another crack at it. Hojbjerg coming back from covid and played the full game against West Ham. Ndombele bar one great pass was a little disappointing and still held on to the ball too long. I’m sure he’ll get the Conte game plan eventually but doesn’t look at his best and the others have earned the spots more.

My take is that Ndombele‘s contribution was vital and of the midfield players only he is capable of that level of play and he should start again.

The fact we have so many fringe players in form is a real bonus with 2 games in 3 days and means we should be able to rest most of the guys who had Covid for at least 1 of those games:

v. Palace…

———————————Lloris
——————Sánchez—Dier—Davies
Emerson—Ndombele-Winks-Dele—Reg
—————————Kane—Son

v S’ton

————————Lloris
————Sánchez—Dier—Davies
Doherty—Skipp—Hojbjerg—Reguilon
———Lucas——Kane——Bergwijn

Lloris
Emerson Sanchez Dier Davies Reguilon
Ndombele Winks Dele
Kane Son

Then some tasty rotation on the 28th.

Anyone not starting Dele in their predicted XI is criminal. Has to start after performance against LFC

Same XI that started vs Liverpool for me, but with Reggie in for Sess and Skipp in for Winks (who admittedly did play well). I’d also be tempted to play Tanganga at RWB to lock horns with Zaha

Don't know if I trust that after the last game against them.

Reguilón is the one I worry about over the next few games. We can rotate Kane in and out (whether we do is another matter) but we'll need to play Doherty LWB or Tanganga there to rest Reguilón

Think Dele has a long way to go before being trusted again. He was also poor against West Ham when he came on. Hopefully he'll get a start in one of the next 2 games. He really needs to play like he did against Liverpool or I think he's still likely to go in jan

The game is now on BT Sport which is a bonus.

I would like us to play 3 5 2 but I do like Lucas playing - he helps break the lines up. It will be interestign to see how things go.

I think Royal will be back and Reggie will start. I wouldnt mind seeing Ndombele in the 352. I mean we do have a game coming up on Tuesday so plenty of games to change things around and think a home game would be best for Ndombele first and foremost

Against Palace's very strong left side with Zaha and Kouyate, I think Hojberg should play this game and against a less physical side like Southampton Ndombele and Skipp can play in a 2. Feels like Conte does not see any future for Lo Celso at all
I would rather have Skipp vs the more physical side as PEH does not have the pace. Would rather start Kane / Son up top and bring Lucas on when the game is stretched.

Which is fair enough. I didn’t think he had a good game (or at least not as impressive as Winks/Dele) but his qualities and what he can bring to the team are obvious.

This is our strongest team and shape I think. It gives Son a lot more space to run into and also allows a cm to join the attack.

While not back to himself, Dele was better against pool than Ndombele has ever been for us so dele gets the spot for me.

I'm a fan of peh but I think he's limited and skipp is as good if not better. Winks definitely deserves his place in the 11.

Why? People are really overrating that performance. He had a decent game and bombed the two BIGGEST chances… he did zero against West Ham when he came on but to think he has to start after one half decent performance in 3 years is criminal. He was also playing against Liverpool 3rd choice midfielders…

What… my god people are overrating that performance. Player bombs two of the biggest chances I’ve seen this season and people now think he is part of our strongest 11? Hojberg walks into our team still, winks also does not deserve to start in our best 11 as he was poor when he came on against West Ham.
Ndombele actually got an assist at least and has more ability than alli so why doesn’t he deserve a shot? People get so carried away after our midfield played against Liverpool 3rd choice midfield.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting they are suddenly world beaters but it is good motivation for all the squad to see good performances rewarded with another start. It drives on those others that are on the outside looking in (Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Gil, Rodon etc.) and makes our current starters push to keep their slot.
