It seems to me that as long as we keep creating chances down the left while conceding relatively few Harry's preferred pairing will at least half the time be Bale and BAE. As Kendall says we need back up for BAE, although I wonder whether Bassong could do a job there?

Gallas can play left back.

he is quick, strong, good in the air and left footed.

only concern his ability to link up with whoever is in front of him, has he got what it takes to overlap and attack too?

It says on his Facebook biog (I know, I know) that he plays CB and LB. I wonder if Harry knows?

I just wouldn't want to move our first choice CB and most experienced player to cover LB. I think Bassong would be a better bet.

This looks good to me. With Bale at LB (possibly, due to BAE injury) I think it'll be a big suprise if Hutton (who defensively is a liability) would be picked ahead of Corluka, though his exclusion midweek suggests he's in the frame for this one. Also think we need to keep playing Lennon, considering neither Bentley nor dos Santos impressed against the Ars*. Rest of the team picks itself really.

Which is anyway about our strongest fully fit lineup. Hopefully Sandro will be on the bench and can get some time since he looked a really interesting player the one time he has ever played in the PL.

King, mod, and "can't play with the slightest hint of pain" gomes will be saved for next Wed, which is a match we have to win really if we have any hope of getting to the next round of the CL (or at least drop into the europa)

I know he was (somewhat harshly) criticised on Tuesday night, but I would quite like to see David Bentley given a run-out in that team.

To be fair, I don't have a clue what team they put out in the week (West Ham). He probably has better things to do than watch highlights of our game against the scum.

That is such a strong line up! Sandro perhaps might not make it - 2 big games in 4 days might just be too much, but you never know!

If Palacios plays though, he must step it up a level. His passing in particular this season has let him down. Obviously family issues are still playing on his mind and that is totally understandable, but we can't afford for him to keep giving the ball away.
