It’s increasingly sounding as though the the options we have tomorrow, plus Udogie, are as good as it’s going to get for us this side of the Man City game.

Monday night was a worst case scenario type of evening.

Would like to see us play a creative midfielder, rather than 3 workhorses in midfield

So would I. Also if Maddison is out for longer than we'd thought, it could be very beneficial to try to play Lo Celso into form.

Ange has been quite reluctant to use him much as a sub though. Not that his choices instead haven't been any bit understandable, but it does also make me wonder if Lo Celso is a player who he doesn't see as the right fit for us going forward.

Thought the support was immense on Monday but it was obvious then and even more so now that that Chelsea game is going to be a really damaging one in terms of the rest of our season

I would be tempted to put Kulu central and give Gil a run on the wing.

I get the logic but:

a) that’s weakening two areas of the team rather than one;
b) Gil is literally our only wide attacking option on the bench now so if you start them both and one gets a knock you’re back to square one; and
c) Have any of us seen anything to suggest that Gil is up to starting in the EPL? I haven’t.

I'm not the biggest fan of putting Kulusevski central unless there weren't other viable options. Especially considering that he's been playing fairly well on the right, whilst Johnson has looked good in his spells on the left and we've seen so little of Gil.

I think we should limit moving things around too much where possible, especially considering the amount of shuffling we'll already have to do by force.

So it could be:

Vicario

Hojbjerg
Phillips
Dier
Emerson

Bissouma
Sarr
Bentancur

Johnson
Kulu
Sonny

With the primary function of both full backs going into central midfield I think PEH could do a job at RB personally.

Then for Villa we will have Udogie back, Porro back and hopefully Maddison back so it’s just central defence where the problems lie.

The thing with playing a creative CM over a "workhorse" isn't as important in an Ange team as opposed to a Conte/Jose team, because of the nature of our play, with 1-2 touch and passing and movement with third man running all over the pitch, chances will naturally come about.

Ange will know who is up to if from the last few days training and he has my full trust.

Also, really intrigued to see/hear the news on the injury front as if M VDV really was walking around at the training ground unaided and with no strapping then that is a very promising sign.

I would like to see a midfield trio of:

Lo Celso——Bentancur

Bissouma

That should be good enough to beat Wolves

No team have created more transition opportunities (614) or completed more fast breaks (13) than Gary O'Neil's side this season, providing huge evidence that they possess the perfect style of football to hurt Ange Postecoglou's potentially malfunctioning defence.

So... we probably have to score 3-4 goals tomorrow 😄😄😄 ... also without Maddison.

If Davies is unfit who plays LCB , in the Spurs/Wolves preview show Rob Daly highlighted that PEH is not as slow as some think and reckons he could play that role. In the Chelsea game Sterling broke through about 10 yards into our half ,had a good yard or so on PEH but Pierre caught up with him and made a clearing tackle in the box.
Were all worried about lack of creativity without Madison but we are all going on what we have seen from our midfielders under Conte, Ang ball is different, think he might go with Sarr, Biss and Rodrigo, for me Lo Celso has never shown anything in a Spurs shirt that would warrant giving him a start.

One bonus for us , their most dangerous player Netto is out.

We created some decent chances against Chelsea after Maddison went off (and while we were playing 9v11).
