Also if Parker played against Wolves and got a yellow, then played the next five and got a yellow in each he would miss Man United! Assuming he doesn't play in any F.A Cup games:razz:/Planning ahead

If we rest Parker until March (Man U at home) he'll be flying and we'll win our last 12 games

If Parker is fit he plays
He gets over a weeks rest before City

It's an entirely different question and maybe answer If you ask, Scott Parker can only play at home to wolves or away to city?

No reason whatsoever If he's fit to face Wolves then he'll be fine for City too

I disagree. I wouldn't like to see him flung back in, especially when we played the way we did against Everton. Parker is a must for City, if he doesn't play, we lose, I honestly believe it's that clear cut.

Whereas if he doesn't play against Wolves it makes little odds.

I could understand if it was Wolves away, where we might not be able to dominate (although we did dominate when we played them away~ yes I know who played:wink:). But we are at home, Livermore deserves to keep his place after Everton game plus it will help develop him and give him more confidence as well as give Parker an extra weeks rest.

We WILL dominate on Saturday, I'd be more worried about the fact Adebayor hasn't scored in 4 (practically 5 cos he scored early against Chelsea!) games. We need him to start chipping in again because we can't always rely on the midfielders to put them away.

Ade dithered a few shots against Everton - which he should have scored, I think a sharp Defoe would've put them away. Defoe for Ade? We play the ball to the feet so much, this is why I don't understand the fear of not having Ade for the Man City game.

We play the ball to feet, but the reason we are able to make gaps is often due to Adebayor's hold up play. He's very good at keeping the ball and linking up with other players. Not that I don't think Defoe hasn't improved in this area, but I quetion whether he can do it on his own - he's never shown he can.

For me it's:

Defoe - Takes more of his chances, but as a team we will create less

Adebayor - May scuff a few chances, but as a team we will always be confident of creating more.

Adebayor is one of those strikers who can get away without scoring because he can create for others as well as hold the ball up well. One thing I noticed against Everton is that he didn't get offside?!? He is quite poor at finishing though, his shots are often too weak, he was unlucky with his toe poke effort though because it looked like it might have been creeping in. I do fear that if he carries on without scoring it may affect him and us, if he doesn't score tomorrow it could be well over a month (due to not being able to play against City) since his last goal >_<

Harry should rest VDV and play Defoe. We have a big squad, and now the time to show the benefits of having many good players. VDV just played on Wednesday, his hamstrings arent reliable, we play City next, so even a fool can agree that this formula SHOULD be enough to warrant Defoe a start.

I expect we'll see Defoe, and Harry was planning for it by leaving him on the bench on Saturday. I also agree that it will be in place of VDV, who runs almost as uncomfortably as Ledley at this point.

Bear in mind this is a chance to go level with leaders man city before they play next , a team we also play next. Can't see Harry make many changes from the strongest possible team.

Play our strongest available team. We don't play City until next Sunday, so there will be plenty of time for them to rest up.

This. All this resting stuff is nonsense. We have no midweek game.

We have to play our strongest possible team and that includes VDV.

Talking about him being slow misses the point entirely- he makes the ball do the work with his brilliant passing and sees passes no one else would.

They have eight days off after that too.

And why rest Lennon? ?He had a rest while injured and we are strongest when we have pace on both wings- from the wings and full backs and that means Lennon in the team.

We are at our best at home with Lennon, Bale and VDV all interchanging and that is what we need against an obdurate Wolves defence on Saturday.

I'd rest Lennon as he is just back - need him for City .

and I wouldn't risk Parker - need him for City also

so I'd start

--------------------Friedel
Walker------Kaboul---------Dawson------ Benny
------------Livermore--------Modric-------------
Pienaar----------Van Der Vaart---------Bale---
-----------------Adebayor---------------------

I wouldn't mind this but I have to agree with spurslenny, I think we should play our strongest team.

We should just be going to City being happy to play the best team we can put out at that moment, what we don't want is to put more pressure on ourselves for that game by not getting the 3 points against Wolves.

I also think Lennon needs games more than he does a rest. After injuries it's all about having match time to regain his best from with him.

If Parker's fit he should play. We need an enforcer up against Wolves' bully boys in midfield.

Harry Redknapp says he's 'hopeful' that Scott Parker will be fit to play tomorrow. He's expected to train today

If Parker is ready then he doesn't need extra rest for the City game as that game will be nearly 8 days away.

Friedel
Walker Dawson Kaboul Ekotto
Lennon Parker Modric Bale
VDV
Adebayor

Cudicini Bassong Rose Livermore Kranjcar Defoe Pavlyuchenko

I've omitted Pienaar as this QPR transfer seems to be hotting up, otherwise I'd have him ahead of Rose.
