I was inclined to think likewise. Then yesterday I read that Firmino is on £68k a week. Depending on whoever's vying for Pulisic's signature, maybe we needn't have to offer him stratospheric wages.

I can see the top tier teams after him, he's a real talent and extremely young but the top teams are happy to leave him at Dortmund so he can develop but as soon as there is a bid I can see other teams go for him. A bit like what happened when we were negotiating with Hazard, Willian and Martial. I don't think he would demand that high a wage but his transfer is going to be north of £60M surely.

Don`t know if been posted - but Dries Mertens (Napoli) has a release clause for 28 mill. euros.

Fair enough that he`s 30 - get him in levy and poch (y)

We should have been all over that when he left PSV for Napoli. But we signed Chadli instead, for a very similar price.

I'm not arguing. I would give my left testicle for him.

Martial's assist to Lingard for Utd's second goal today is sublime. It is really sad that we cannot sign him (twice?). If the player is the right player, just spend the money.

There has to be some good AMs/wingers playing for europa league clubs, or even other CL clubs (tied in the CL but can play domestic stuff). I mean alexis sanchez started off at udinese before going to barca. These players exist, it just seems that we're fascinated with spending 10m on some french project (i have liked both nkoudou and Njie btw but it seems poch doesn't).

We spend 40m on Sanchez, a CB. I think we are able to do this. But it is annoying that we lack a forward with pace for two years and we don't buy anyone except GKN.

I'll get fucking roasted for this, but I would be intrigued to.see what Poch could do with Shaqiri. I know he's not always at it, but a bull of a player on his day, would bring some unpredictability.

Yes I've had a few, pretty desperate thinking of January window lol
