It's not really a swipe, more exerting a little pressure.

We leave our business late some of the time, all he's saying is we could do with planning differently so this doesn't continue to hinder our preparations for a new season.

He's spot on. Leaving business until late on isn't as effective as it once was anyway. It's worth paying a little more, within reason, to get a full pre season with pretty much the whole squad.
I think he is saying more than that. He is telling Levy that there are consequences to his incompetence in our incomings and that we are seeing the consequences now. He is just saying it in typical classy Poch style, which in many ways makes the message even more effective.

I think he's an adult and is perfectly capable of saying what he thinks to Levy in person.

Poch may well want to do business early but the selling club will (nearly) always hold out for more money. So getting players in for preseason may not be our choice, unless we overpay tremendously.

Bale, Modric and Barkley would work.
Yea but still no pace ;) Bale is past it, we need PACEEEEEE and quality like Salah, not like Nkoudou. Get it done Levy. I’m kidding though, bale and Barkley would be a wet bloody dream. Modric, na Winksy all day over Luka.

Going on what Poch said and Hercules' posts, I would think that we will try and arrange deals for certain players (Sess, maybe Kluivert, and Barkley) to join early summer.. which would be great business, along with getting Toby a new deal.

CITY, SPURS EYE LIGUE 1 TEENAGER

Manchester City and Tottenham are both keen on FC Lorient youngster Matteo Guendouzi, Sky Sports News understands.

The 18-year-old broke into Lorient’s first team last season, and both City and Spurs are closely monitoring the progress of the France U20 defensive-midfielder.

Last week, Sky Sports News revealed Spurs are scouting for an eventual replacement for Mousa Dembele and Guendouzi (centre, pic below) fits a similar profile.

Bernado Silva who barely makes an appearance? Why do you think they're able to have such quality players in reserve? They're only able to keep players like that happy when not playing because of the wage they pay. They can afford to have multiple top quality players in every position. It isn't so simple for us.

Jesus plays often I believe notice you didn't mention him...

We already have multiple players in certain positions and were prepared to spend relatively large fees on defensive positions and I think we now need to do the same in the attacking and creative areas. I don't think it is rocket science we skimped on Llorente, Janssen and Nkoudu and think we need to rethink our creative and attacking transfer policy as it has been poor!!

What's that got to do with anything? The point is, you want multiple top quality players for every position. We don't pay the wages of City so can't match them as you seem to think we should.

That's true. Although we do seem to be paying £95k/wk to Sissoko.....

I think this argument gets confused with those saying "WHo cAN wE geT to SiT oN thE bEnch beHind KaNe???" - to which the correct response is to highlight the fact Liverpool, Arse, Chelsea Man U and City all have more than one quality striking option.

Wages is the reason we don't...

Who do Liverpool have as striker options? Sturridge, who is perma crocked, firmino, who is an AM who plays as a striker due to pool having no other options, solanki, a raw youth who’s hardly played.
And Chelsea have batshui who it seem conte doesn’t really trust, not enough to rest morata.
