Don't mistake our chairman's tightness for the norm. Most clubs will find the money if they want players. For instance Brighton have turned down a 50 mil offer from Villa for White. So watch this space.

The players that you quoted aren't valued in the same bracket as Ben White though.

Club's generally find the money if they player is good or has potential, not coming off bad seasons and again we are in a the pandemic period.

I didn't say any of the players listed were worth 50 mil just that clubs will pay good money if the player is wanted by them. A few clubs have shown an interest in Winks in the last couple of seasons and he was still in the England squad until the Euro's. I still stick by my valuation of 30mil for him and I can see clubs like Brighton, Palace, Burnley paying it for him.

Still at a loss as to why folks are so quick to want to offload Lamela. For me, he's the one guy next to Kane and Lucas who really puts a shift in whenever required and does his job very well. I can understand if it's just a matter of cashing in before his contract's up, but on footballing grounds he's earned his right to stay in my view.

I know you didn't but you specifically used an example of a player who is valued at £50m, the point is not all transfers work like that - Ben White's stock is high AND there's a market for him with other clubs interested, that's how the price gets pushed up...can you say the same for any of our players?

Interesting that some say Levy wont let them go cheap. Is it not now the job of the Sporting Director to work within the budget he has been given and make the decision on sales?

Well he only has one year left on his contract for starters.

He's on £80k a week and not a regular starter.

You don't have to think a player is useless or has a bad attitude to think it's time for them to leave.

Villa have paid £38m for Buendia. This could be an excellent deal. If they are interested in Winks I see no reason they wouldn't pay £20m+.

It's more the case that he could be one of the few that actually has a market. Still don't think we're getting more than 10 million though.

From that original list of 7 players that was quoted, no there isn't a 50 mil player now amongst them. However regardless of most fans dislike of Winks I don't think there will be a lack of takers and 30 mil is a realistic price. As for the other 6 most of them are current internationals and 10 to 20 mil for them is not impossible as long as Levy is not involved with the sales and asks for 20 to 40 mil and we are left with them.

Winks can probably fetch around mid 20's but your Lamela and Dier valuations are a bit optimistic, not sure about Sanchez as e's just come off a good Copa America so we'll see.

I think you're overestimating what impact being an international has. And how on earth are you valuing a 29 year old Erik Lamela with a year left on his contract at 25 million in the current market? Exactly which kind of clubs do you think will be after him for that fee? You're living in dream land.

In the end it's down to how aggressive our new management team are with pushing them through. This is one time the Mendes connection can help.

There have been a couple of clubs in Italy in the last couple of seasons that have shown interest and he's just the type to fit in there so lets wait and see you might be surprised.

Didn't Eriksen go for £20m when he had 6 months left?

Yes, a 27 year old Eriksen who was wanted by some of the biggest clubs in the world, when transfer fees were as high as they'd ever been, and he'd played pretty much every game for us for the previous 5 years without injury. He was also in the PFA team of the year the previous year and second in UEFA's midfielder of the year award. The 2 situations are not the same.
