Anyone have any idea how strong Forest's U-18 side is?

Previous rounds in FAYC - won 3-0 at The Hawthorns (Tyles Walker hatrick, son of Des Walker ex E CB), won 2-0 v Burney at home

Notts Forest have a Category 2 Academy - 4th (midtable) in their league with 8 wins out of 17 games and a GD of 31-23.

They've produced a number of decent players over the years - including Michael Dawson and Jermain Jenas - most recently Jamal Lascalles who Spurs were strongly linked with before he signed for Newcastle and loaned back.

Spurs should have better players and prevail but it could be a tough match

It seems we have the same problem with Musa yahaya as Manchester city have with Kelechi Iheanacho. Iheanacho Has played in a friendly for City but he is not listed anywhere on their website as their player. Even when they turn 18 i don't think they will get work permits which makes it all a bit confusing to me. Will be happy if anyone can clear it up for me

38 seconds in.

Because youuuuuuuuu're Georgiou
I'd do anything for you
Because youuuuuuuuu're Georgiou
I know you'll get us through

Love it!

Tomas Gomelt seems to be an example of this for Spurs. Sherwood was saying in his Independent column that he used to get frustrated with agents sending them youngsters on trial only for it to turn out that they didn't have work permits.

He does not play for us.

Good game, I'll prob give my write up tomorrow as I just got back. Played a lot better today than we did against Wolves which was good to see. Managed to get ourselves together for the big match. Onwards and upwards.
Odd thing is the team he used to play for (he made his debut for at 15) no longer exsits.

I didn't know that... what an odd scenario!?! You could have named your odds on that one
Yes he went out on loan the day after he signed (think they might have announced it at the same time as he signed). Maybe it is pre-season in Qatar.

Lascalles has had a shocking season both on the pitch and off it

Looking forward to seeing some of the writeups from those of you who were present to compare with my own impressions and those already written from those who watched over the internet. For me, our strongest players were Georgiou, KWP, and Stylianides. Azzaoui also had a good game, but I feel the above three deserve standout praise, and Onomah of course showed moments of outstanding talent but didn't have a great match overall.

Was particularly impressed with the interchange between Georgiou and Walker-Peters. They seemed to be constantly aware of where each other were and did brilliantly in covering for one another. They rightly deserved the goal they scored in their combo, as they just did excellent work among each other.

Was impressed with Edwards. Excellent quick feet and vision. Also thought Sterling did very well in his sub appearance.

thought both of our centerbacks were class tonight we r so stacked at this position for the future, Dier, Veljkovic, ccv, magamha oglivie taganga think winston reid should be the last center defender we buy for a long time.

True, they were very solid tonight. Didn't have much work to do as the press eliminated most threats before the CB's needed to be called on, as well as the FB's, but they were absolutely solid when their numbers were called. Clearly some great readers of the game in there.

I am still just positively buzzing from that match. Just a stunning amount of quality all over the pitch from us, and 16-18 year old kids just shouldn't have that much tactical and technical discipline, and it's fantastic it's so in line with our first team manager's philosophy. Really is exciting stuff.

Ogilvie is a left back and I still think Veljkovic will end up in CM, but you can add Ball to that list of players who could potentially make it.

oglivie could play centerback i see him as being as a possible cb\lb squad member, while poch clearly needs highly mobile cms and despite veljkovic being a really good reader of the game i dont think he has the pace\energy to play in poch's midfield. Ball is a good shout. i just hope we dont block there paths.

Stambouli has thrived under Poch since getting up to speed. I'm not sure that he's any faster or more mobile than Veljkovic.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Veljkovic there. Plus Eriksen covers a lot more ground than he did 1 year ago.

your right and i havent seen him all that much, mostly during preseason at cb by the way and i didnt mean to be harsh i was just trying to relay why i think his playing style is a better fit at cb then midfield

I hope Veljkovic gets some time to show off what he can do at Charlton, but either way I think he is one in line for a lower league loan next season (though hopefully better than League 2!) Quite a few players between him and the first team, and he's at an age where he really needs to be getting games and developing his instincts and footballing brain. Don't know much about MK's play style but given our connections there it might be a good spot for him.
