Lot of hype for Amos before but he seemed to be played out of position due to having so many good players in MF. Good to see he is having a good season in DM.

Not sure if we should buy a 19yo up and comer or a more accomplished 23/24yo. to cover us for a couple years then we can assess how good Harrison is when he is 19

23/24 year old accomplished strikers are big bucks - we would need to buy him for the first team. I was thinking of buying a 19 year old striker from an academy - if we could identify a suitable candidate who had a deecent chance of making it and not big £m's - otherwise we need to wait 3 years or so for Harrison to get into first team contention, if of course he does.

Btw guys here is some info I've been meaning to pass on for last week. Spoke to mods and there was confusion over how it should be posted as contained information on Mitchell joining and didn't want to compromise anyone. As he has joined I can say the rest I think. My guy would know the youth players.

So asked about Rares Lazar. He said 'who?' said the 2nd youngest Romanian to have played in their league, he said he vaguely recognised the name a few months back but otherwise doesn't know him. That is not confirmation we haven't got him but he knows a few of the other u15s/16s I mentioned so thought it strange he wouldn't know who he is.

Another bit of sensitive information was about Yahaya. As the agent has mentioned it, and we saw him in pics won't make a difference. He came on against Rosenborg, he is only allowed to play behind closed doors matches.

Slightly disappointing news, but I believe Ceballos will be leaving end of season. He wanted to go on loan but we said he could if he signed a new contract. He didn't want to. Presumably as he wanted guaranteed game time. So he will not get many chances if any this season.

The disappointing MV loan. We thought the links were with Ugo and Boro, but was told it was Karanka and Poch. MV really wanted to go on loan, has been very confidents and wanted playing time. Lack of game time I was told may be good for MV as it will keep him motivated and show how much you need to prove yourself.

Unsurprisingly CCV is highly rated and seen as a leader on and off the pitch.

Apparently McEvoy was going to go on loan to Hornchurch (yes I know) I questioned this at the time as it didn't seem believable but just passing on. Also Ball to Colchester and a few others there too. Don't know if that will still happen as loan window closed but may still happen in Jan.

If we did that I'd be reluctant to get rid of both Ade and Soldado as suggested. Need one with some exp.

Edwards should have scored. Dawdled on the ball.

He really is a serious player. His pass and dribbling at 75mins why was that not a foul though

Need to buy strikers for the first team undoubtadly . I was thinking of the development squad quite seperately - we have options for all positions who could get into the first team squad (not saying all will make it) for every position who are 18 or more, except as strikers where we are agreed that we have nobody who seems a credible candidate at present, and at the same time play in the u21's (and having a complete team to compete helps raise the game of alll the players, so a decent striker makes sense to acquire)

Thought you were talking first team. Ye I think we could get someone that could hover between first team squad and u21 games. Whatever happened to the lad you posted from Bristol

Ball to Colchester - League 1 loan, I guess he's a better chance of playing there, but think he could play in the Championship already. Wonder if Poch is prepared to accept League 1 experience can be good enough to then move into the first team squad for next pre-season (as he did for Mason).

MV loan - maybe character building for a little while, but surely he needs to move to play to develop ?

McEvoy to Hornchurch suggests that the club rates him less than we were discussing a few posts back.

No update - still not played this season as has been recovering from injury, and I'd guess we would want to see he's fully recovered first.

IG,

You don't rate Fredericks? (Sorry, tried to quote #2560 your post earlier but failed....)

As @yankspurs said been a great week. Who would have thought 4 years ago we would see a midfield 3 of academy players, who according ot G Nevs dominated Everton's midfield. A top 6 midfield. With potentially even better players ready to come through.

Just need to get Prtichard, Milos and Carroll their chance

@tonyc Don't not rate Fredericks. He has done really well, and think he would be a great option at RB but don't know how much of a future he has with us with Walker coming back, Yedlin joining. Naughton still here and Vlad and DIer showing they can play there, though he has earned an opportunity.

The reason I specified the 3 above was because those were the ones I thought were ready now and along with 3 others have been the most impressive in that 'age group'

So did we actually sign him?

Re Ball I think it is just playing time. If we sign another defender and bring MV back he would fall down the pecking order, and after seeing MVs lack of chances I think they'd want to make sure he got games.

MV I don't think we should have sent him out but I think it was his choice. Fair play if he wanted games but we should have used him.

McEvoy that's exactly what I thought. Don't know how plausible it is, how can anyone fall that much. But I thought Michael-Percil was good who was similar to McEvoy and I remember he dropped quite a few leagues down

I agree but we have un earthed Kane not sure if we can find another would that be greedy, I think we have to cull the squad and pay big for a striker who can play with Kane and Roberto (if we plan to keep him). Btw Kane was exceptional today his fight and hunger was amazing I really think him and RS could be a great partnership kinsman and sheringham two clever players. Or am I hoping to much :)

I have heard Ade is really disruptive from a mate who talks to players a couple of months back which ties in with the itk and he has gone missing from the squad. Hopefully we can clear out a few players as the lads coming in have been the savers of our season and proberly / possibly poch.

Also let's not write off any players Livermore, rose were all written off early days and are good prem players, bale and Andy carroll were written then did really well. Coulhurst might do better at spurs lots of players fail on loan look at mason.

Massive edit. This was not regarding CCV. That was regarding the McEvoy loan to Hornchurch. Sorry for confusion. Assume that's why @James O'Beirne put that rating.

Bloody hell if that loan news is true. I'm one to show patience with our youngsters and still think a few of them (such as Fredericks, Carroll etc) could make it with us, but if we think McEvoy needs to go to Hornchurch on loan then you may as well just cut him adrift now.
