Who wants to read that Arsenal are a major force compared to us. When it’s not even true.
What are you going on about?...he’s just pointing out how much they’ve spent on their front 3 compared to us recently.
Really not worth getting upset about.

Stop reading too much into it.

Most managers over compliment their serious rivals. It’s classic mind games straight from Football Management City and Guilds course 101. Fergie did it all the time, so did Mourinho. Pep does it too. Klopp as well

Will we buy Lo Celso ? And Arsenal net spend could end up about £30m if they shift mustafi. If you include Lo Celso as a buy which it effectively is we have highest net spend of the top 6. He can’t keep trotting out the woe is poor little Tottenham line.

Perhaps he is doing an 'Arsenal' and playing down expectations as to what we can spend/afford in readiness for the next two Transfer Windows ? If you shout from the roof tops you have hundreds of millions to spend other clubs will be happy to raise their prices to help you spend it.

Why are people so obsessed with net spend in general? I'm not personally one of these people who gets excited that the club are making or saving money or see it as some kind of trophy when Levy signs a commercial deal but equally is it not more important to sign the right player(s) than worry because we aren't spending more than we recoup? People seem very obsessed with the fact of net spend rather than who we signed.

Interesting article and pretty much explains Poch and his mood all summer in terms of his position in the transfer committee. Why Levy decides to buy players that Poch doesn't particularly feel the need for I don't know. Especially when some of our bigger deals we spent all summer trying to shave the costs down. I can understand why Poch feels frustrated seeing the Lo Celso deal rumble on whilst 10-12 million goes to a player he isn't keen on.

Of course is Clarke comes and turns out to be incredible then Levy will be vindicated but I can fully appreciate the friction in the short term.

I’m pretty sure that this story will be used time and time again over the next few years during transfer windows and when it’s Levy’s turn for a bashing.

Shocking quotes in that Sun article by Pochettino what an earth is he on about. Making excuses when we’ve spent circa £160m this summer and tried to get Dybala he sounds absolutely pathetic. Really thought we’d turned the corner on Friday. But still trotting out the same old shit.

Well, he’s right in a way.

We’ve spent money but it was long overdue and essentially we’ve just replaced Dembele and seemingly Eriksen with Ndombele and GLC.
Our right back situation is frankly ridiculous as is having to start Lamela in a premier league game. KWP and Erik aren’t good enough for a top 10 premier league side let alone alleged top 3.

Still, I agree he needs to tone it down a bit. He knew the game when he signed up and then signed on for longer. It’s no secret we don’t really spend money on the team, certainly not the sort of money that’s required to sustain a genuine challenge.

Last week, Poch said Lo Celso was nowhere even close to where they want yet he played almost 35 minutes. This week, he says Dele is an uncertainty after probably a week and a half of training after the injury and Lo Celso is still not really close. I have this creeping suspicion that Poch will spring a surprise.

Poch doesn’t do surprises other than Son at left back in the semi final of an FA cup.

Not obsessed with net spend but you can’t just evaluate a window by what spent if you’ve then sold valuable players.

The quality of a player isn't always determined by their cost though.

Some posters on here saying he's clearly not match fit which for me, with him being a 23yr old pro sportsman, pretty much means desperately unfit.

Poch had said he's not at the required levels yet.

I myself don't believe he's that far off being able to play a full 90, if at all. He needs to get used to the team but fitness shouldn't be much of an issue.

Well unless you want him to end up like Ndombele who's picked up an injury already and he's much further down the line fitness wise then I guess we're gonna have to show some patience.

When we’ve just moved into the best stadium in Europe spent circa £160m nearly got Dybala over the line, you really think he should be making out we are some minnow of English football ?

look until we buy GLC on a permanent we haven't spent that. it won't show up in the figures. he is on loan at the moment, whether it has an option or not. if Poch did leave theres a big possibility GLC won't sign at the end

He's just trying to take the pressure off the players I hope rather than getting his excuses in early

Pochs required fitness levels are different to other teams, hence our teams Km per game are higher and why we score late goals. Lo Celso May have only come off playing a tournament, yet has had a few weeks off since then. In that time, your body starts storing carbohydrates, as it’s not used to them not being burned off whilst playing regularly. Poch likes to protect new signings, and bed them in to prevent them being criticised by the media for not hitting the ground running, and allowing them to get up to the fitness levels of the rest of the squad, and then adapt to the intensity of the premier league.

Chucking him or any new signing from another culture and league, in at the deep end, is only going to knock their confidence if they are not upto speed and they don’t live up to the expected hype.

He's comparing how much they've spent on their front 3 with us... what did he say that wasn't accurate?

He should remember the main reason we didn’t have to go and spend that money is because in Kane, Dele and Son we already had three better players who are worth more. The fact our forward line now looks so insepid is because of his coaching / tactics.
