There are rumours about the B&H re-opening - someone who will be in N17 today is going to find out what's happening and report back later. So watch this space...

I am on the edge of my seat with this bit of news Cosmic (seriously). Would certainly miss the old place I it did close down.

I'm going to the Swansea game and used to always go to the Bell and Hare. Need to find another spot I guess.

I tried the pub now managed by the former manager of the B&H, on Saturday. Nice boozer, massive inside and out. It's called The Elmhurst and is on Lordship lane. A bit off the beaten track but worth a look. After that I would probably go to the Two Brewers or Pride of Tottenham. I have never been in the Antwerp and can't stand the Bricklayers. The Bill Nick's beer is so watered down they should be reported and the Elbow Room is nothing to write home about.

Back to dissing areas, 'cept I spent the first 18 years of my life in Enfield Lock, so I'm not going to diss anywhere...

The only news I have right now is that someone wanted to buy the B&H but it was too expensive for them. Still waiting to see if there's any more news...

The trouble is, Cosmic, that apart from match days the B&H was dead as Queen Anne, and the Antwerp, being a little out of the way, isn't much better. I went past this lunchtime, thought I might pop in for a beer and a sandwich, and it was completely empty. There's talk about turning it into a community pub, and I'd love to see that happen, but unless they can start getting punters in it will be a no-no.

The guy who manages Glickman's Ironmongers is a pretty good source of information via the Tottenham Trades Council, but he's heard nothing about the B&H other than that it's up for sale.

In the last few years we've lost the Chequers/Bootlaces, the Railway next to WHL station, the British Queen, the Red Lion, the Prince of Wales. the Plough, the Corner Pin, the Swan, the Rose and Crown and another one down towards Seven Sisters the name of which escapes me. Oh, and Valentino's.

Nice trip down Memory Lane here, though:

It's a sign of the times. So many pubs all over the UK have closed already and it's still happening - the economy and perhaps even the no smoking legislation to a lesser extent have hit the pub business hard.

Bummer, last I heard it was supposed to be opening in time for the Espanyol game.

Where's everyone going to be going for the Swansea game now? Brickies is alright but gets crazy busy. Is the Bill Nic worth a visit? Coach and Horses or Antwerp Arms instead?

Add in The Milford, The Park, The Cockerel, The Bull (quite a few years ago now) and Latino's too.

It's a ploy by the club to force us into the £4.50 Carlsberg plastic bottles.

Minus the cap I might add.

Also have to add in very cheap supermarket booze
