so it's now 5-1 for Wolfsburg with Dzeko scoring the fifth.

This means the Grafite-Dzeko partnership is now the most prolific in Bundesliga history with 54 league goals between them. One more than Gerd Muller and Uli Hoeness in 1972

Troch's just scored with 2 mins to go. Unless Dortmund score, HSV will snatch the last UEFA cup spot.

Wow, lucky Hamburg have snatched the last UEFA cup spot in dramatic fashion

They celebrated like they'd won the league. I've never seen BMJ look so happy.

Overall, it was a brilliant Bundesliga season and one of the most exciting of any of the top European leagues in recent history.

My team of the year:

--------------------Dzeko

Ribery-------------Misimovic-----------Eduardo

----------Josue--------------Kehl

Lahm-----Simunic----------Tasci-------Beck

------------------Drobny

Ibisevic came very close to getting in and there was no one that really stood out at RB.

:)Yes it is.

That could quite possibly be the most ultimate cringe worthy statement I have ever read on this site. Just sorry I missed out on that gem first hand.

Anyway, back on topic. I would just like to congratulate Wolfsburg on what has been a tremendous effort this season and they thoroughly deserve their crown. Some outstanding players in that team who I rather think will be leaving the team come the summer, which is dissapointing but it's a money game these days.

Am I correct in thinking Hamburg claim the final Uefa Cup spot? I believe so anyway, so a great day for our beloved Jol. Let's hope the Sunderland rumours remain just that!

Finally, it's good to see Dortmund back up in contention for the top honours after a dark and barron few years.

Yup, that region's been doing well lately...some really promising youngsters coming through too.

Congratulations to Wolfsburg, they've had a brilliant season and they've won it in style. I hope they can keep their best players since it'd be interesting to see how they do in the CL, though it'd be difficult.

Well done Martin, great season that has soured towards the end, but still overachieved with the squad he has.

Alrite guys, just wondering how the centre back Henrique has done for Leverkusen this year? I believe he's on loan from Barca and was wondering how you feel he's played this year, as i really havent got a clue about the Bundesliga barring who is where in the table!

DP was curious to hear your thoughts about the future of Misimovic. After his impressive season I wonder how you feel he would fair in the Premiership.
Bundesliga has some of my current favourite players eg Subotic, Renato, Marin and Trochowski all of which are destined to move on in the next year or two.

Just to keep in touch with some of the most important news in the Bundesliga:

Armin Veh, former manager of Stuttgart that led them to the league title in 2007, has replaced Felix Magath as new manager of Wolfsburg.

Diego has left Werder Bremen as expected and signed a 5-year contract with Juventus. The transfer fee is 24.5 million apparently

I am not sure about Misimovic's ability to cope with the Prem. It might be too fast for him. In general, I don't think any of the #10's in Germany would transition to the EPL very well. It's fast, but not as fast as England so it would take someone special to play that classic #10. The can play in a 4-3-3 setup over here if they have a good engine or they could be pushed out to the wing. Neither of these are particularly notcieable in Misimovic, but he could possibly work that way. I think if a Prem team goes in for them, they are gambling money if they don't know exactly what they want from him. Not sure where he will end up but I doubt he will be with Wolfsburg next year.

Agree. It's why I think Diego was more suited to Serie A. I do think Marin and Trochowski would suit the Premiership though.

Trochowski much more quickly than Marin, but I agree. And with the news that we are possibly wasting 15 mill on Downing, why not go for Troch?

I know and I doubt Trochowski would cost anything like 15 mil.

I wouldn't want either. Both excellent players, but I don't see them being succesful in the Prem. I'd much prefer Altintop. He's wasted getting the occassional start on the right for Bayern. He should be playing in the middle. I see him as bit like Gareth Barry, who spent the fiort half of his career on the left before MON played him in CM. Altintop showed during Euro 2008, that he's got the perfect game to play CM. He played there enough times for Schalke.
