Didn't see all of his match earlier, as I had to go to the dentists, then pick up a McDonalds, but it looked like he didn't even step out of 2nd gear. Of course, it's a shame it went to 4 sets, but Murray started and ended the match with exactly the same fitness level it seemed. Which was probably better for him than to go out and risk an injury by playing his best tennis from the off. I think it was fairly convincing, because we all know he has a lot left in the tank.

I went wimbledon yesterday, left at 6am, didnt get into the grounds until 11pm, was absolutely knackered.

Managed to see some great tennis though (ground entrance was £20 - courts 3 - 19 allowed). Caught a glimpse of Daniel Evans who was playing Davydeno, got annihalated, a promising british talent, but dont see much in him to make it ala Murray.

I got re-sell tickets for court 1, watched Safina (seeded #1 in the womens singles), she was quite something, had a few unforced errors, but goes for winners from the off - will push it right to the end for the title. Then I saw Juan Carlos ferrero who always promises to do well but peters out at the last 16 or QF stage.

Left court 1 to watch Ana Ivanovic :-D

She attracted some following from the men out on court 4, you dont need to know why - its quite obvious  ... she knows it and loves it btw, was so obvious :)

Then moved over to see a bit of Mauresmo on court #3.

Finsished by seeing Murray finish his game on center court out on Murray Hill which was absolutely packed - no room at all and a great atmosphere.

Good day overall ... a long 14 hour sleep followed though as I stumbled in at 10 pm:up:

All four players in the womens doubles earlier were fantastic. I've seen Georgie Stoop play a few times before, once being on Monday, but I've never seen Curtis or Smith play. How fucking good is Jade Curtis at the net, by the way. The whole match was the quality of Robson and Stoop's groundstrokes, against the quality of Curtis and Smith's net-play. Great tennis. Not sure how Robson and Stoop will fare against Kuznetsova and Mauresmo, but it'll definitely be worth a watch if it's on a show-court, which I expect it will be.

Jade Curtis was the original junior prodigy before Laura Robson came along. She never did that well but she was hyped up something silly a few years back.

Murray v. Gulbis tomorrow (today). Another massively dangerous match for Murray. Gulbis is hit and miss, but again he has all the shots. If he has a good day and makes them he can beat just about anyone. He really pushed Nadal last year. 95% of the time you would expect Murray to be too consistent for him, but still could be a real threat if Gulbis comes out firing.

Hewitt played very well. Looking back to his best. Is he in Murray's or Federer's side of the draw?

Murray's IIRC, think people were talking about a potential Murray-Del Potro semi.

I may be wrong though.

Tell me about it. T'riffic, both of them.

Kirilenko is really bad at tennis though. Which has it's positives because if she goes out early she'll have more time to marry me.

Del Potro looked shite. Hewitt was all over him.

Murray about to get underway on center court.

Im predicting a straight set win for Murray, go on Andy!

That is a bold prediction. Gulbis is so dangerous, because he is hit and miss. When he is hit, he could cause a hell of a lot of trouble.

True, but his record doesn't suggest he will get very far in this tournament.

He seems to me like a player with bags of potential that comes to nothing, you will see glimpses of his power and ground stroke ability, but in the end im pretty confident Murray's consistency will power him through to a straight sets win.

Saying that, Murray is serving for the first set now, 5-2 up.

Well, what can you say?

6-2 first set. Gulbis' touch is a little off (more than a little, actually), but Murray has pulled out some superb winners and aces and forced Gulbis into several errors. 16 straight points on serve, very impressive. First serve percentage above 80 too!
