England team: Alastair Cook, Mark Stoneman, James Vince, Joe Root (capt), Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad, Jake Ball, James Anderson.

No surprises at all, but you read the batting line-up and realise again how much you want Stokes to be in it!

Just looking at that batting line up highlights how much pressure there is on Cook and Root. It’s crazy that we still haven’t replaced Strauss in the team years later.

Weather permitting, first ball is at midnight.
Ta, decision now whether to have a late session tonight and inevitably miss the second part of the days play, or get up at the crack of dawn and miss the first part.

The wise move is to see which way the toss goes. I usually have an early night if we bat so that I can wake up to the bad news and I stay up if we're bowling. I much prefer to watch us bowling. Watching us bat isn't enjoyable because you know we're always one wicket away from the start of a collapse.

I could be lying and actually sit through all of it.

From what I've seen the weather forecast could be a bit dicey so I'll probably make a call on it when the coverage starts. If it looks like it might be a disrupted first session I'll be getting some shut eye and getting up at 5am to see us 10-5 in our second innings. Still 300 behind.

Yeah thats a good shout, I find it quite terrifying watching us bat nowadays.

It’s a big shame Sky don’t have the coverage for this. Their cricket commentary is the rare example of pundits/commentators that I actually want to listen to.

Won’t feel the same without Botham taking the piss out of Nasser and reminding him about the toss at Brisbane etc.

Why do the Aussies bother with all this banter before a ball has even been bowled? Everyone knows they are going to do it and it gets more pathetic every time

Who have BT got out there to cover it?
Im surprised they haven't got Botham/Nasser etc on their books, unless they're contractually tied to Sky.

They've got Michael Vaughan, Ricky Ponting, Geoffrey Boycott, Adam Gilchrist, Graeme Swann, Alison Mitchell, Damien Fleming and Matt Smith.

You will get some good banter with Punter, Gilly and Flem. I enjoy there work on Channel 10 here for the big bash. They know the game well as well.

Warner will play despite a neck problem. Shaun Marsh looks like he's stuffed with a back problem.
Didn't realise we have not lost at the Gabba since 1988.
Quite funny that Mark Nicholas has become the new voice of Aussie cricket taken over from the great Ritchie. He really does have a somewhat soothing voice though! :D
