I take great offence to that old bean! You mean the grating, monosyllabic, humourless, classless stuff I hear every minute of my life?
Must have been in Perth during the tour game there. The ECB is investigating reports that Bairstow headbutted Cameron Bancroft in a bar earlier this month.
Adelaide will be different kettle of fish regardless. The day/night format and that stupid pink ball changes everything. And its not the "old" Adelaide wicket anymore. Plenty in it for the bowlers now. Could be a case of a coin toss in it.Reminiscent of last time tbh..... We're in a solid position, Aussies get a bit of momentum with their lower order and tail, then take that and destroy us in the second innings'.
Too easy to blame it on missing Stokes. We aren't good enough as a batting unit, we don't have enough variety or weapons in the quick bowlers (with or without Stokes), and don't have spin threat.
I'd say we've got to take some risks from now on. Batting line-up cant really be changed, but get Overton in the team and see if he offers a bit more pace and bounce, get Crane in and play two spinners and have the ball turning both ways. We have to try something.

Anderson and Broad's records speak for themselves. They have been fantastic for you. But.... they are showing the signs of wear and tear that come with age. They have both lost visable pace and really don't pose a big threat out here. I haven't seen anything in Ball to be scared of. Woakes is a bit quicker at times but cant seem to hit the spot with regularity.Forgot it was a Day/Night game next up. It will be billed as a close game, we'll probably get thrashed...
This isn't even one of your vintage bowling attacks, but you still have control and bowlers bowling a probing line/length, hostility, a left arm option, a competent spinner who can tie down an end... We've got half a dozen right arm bowlers, mostly doing the same job. No real pace or hostility, no real spin option, no left arm option... ECB and the Counties should be held accountable for this, something is going wrong in developing players and selecting them. We've been getting away with for too long, mostly on the backs of Anderson and Broad.
Vaughan has been on Nine's coverage as well. Good cricketing brain and brings balance to the team when he is on.BT coverage has been appalling. Only ones worth listening to are Vaughan and Punter. As for Gabriel Clark who quite clearly had never watched a cricket match until 2 weeks ago...
Cook seems to have escaped a lot of criticism but even an average knock from him could have been the difference. 9 combined over 2 innings
Would sooner see him out in the middle...Vaughan has been on Nine's coverage as well. Good cricketing brain and brings balance to the team when he is on.
Probably a mountain out of a molehill. Bairstow and Handscomb were shown in discussion when he came out to bat. They played together at Yorkshire so nothing to see there. Dave Warner apparently gave some lip when he got out. Nothing unusual there. He gives as good as he gets. If they kept drinking together then there is nothing to see. Move on. It seems its both the Aussie and English media making something out of it, not the players. So what’s all this nonsense about?
The BBC's cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew said: "I understand from the camp that Bairstow and Bancroft were having a drink together. Their heads met. They carried on drinking together.
"More ammo for accusations of a drink culture, but this will not help relations between the teams."
