I tried to be as realistic as possible. Maybe it is harsh on Buttler but I thought there have been some players who have put the hard yards in the Championship and it, only my opinion, devalues the time and effort they have put in to see Buttler walk straight back into a side to play exclusively as a batsman - at 7 ...

I'm a little worried for the longer format of the game looking at the team at the moment but there are some fine players under the age of 21 in this country. It's only a matter of time I hope. Some of the current players are long in the tooth or really not upto the standard of Test match cricket ...

Don't disagree, but they have to make sure that the ones they draft in are either better than the ones they leave out, or have sufficient advantage in potential to be afforded the opportunity. That last bit is a matter of judgement, but I don't see Stoneman (now gone) or Malan (surely going) becoming long term stalwarts of the team.

Fast-track Archer is my advice. Change the bleedin' rules and get him in!

Yeah we need Archer in. Who's gonna complain if the rules are bent or changed to get him in?

I think after Jimmy is finished Woakes will probably come back in with Broad for a bit, but we need to maintain that variety in our attack.
