Bairstow has to be finished after this test. Can’t bat and can’t keep wicket whilst Foakes is levels above him with the bat and the gloves.

Pathetic keeping from a guy who throws his toys out of the pram every time he loses the gloves.

One of Roots mates isn’t he so he won’t be dropped.

Apart from the leader of the team. That’s what you mean, surely.
Highly unlikely the 'leader' of this team is going to go out and face up to some lukewarm dishwater questions from Atherton on the third day of a test match that you (England) have badly fucked up. If he isn't going to face much media scrutiny after the actual day's play, that is.

Cricket, like football and the punditry surrounding it has fucking gone to shit. If people are afraid of asking the right questions to those involved whether it be the current captain or the antiquated hierarchy we'll forever get the fluff pieces both written and broadcast.

Root is part of the jigsaw puzzle, he'll answer to fuck all as he packs it in at the end of this series. We'll fluff the incoming incumbent and it'll all start again.

That interview with Thorpe was utter rubbish, Athertons questions and reasoning as well let him off the hook. Keep deflecting England.

Need to get Bob “the Grinch” Willis to interview them all :D.

Was funny on the debate last night when he was shouting at Charles Colvile, although Colvile was just playing devils advocate and was pretty scathing himself. Trott then asked if he could shout at him too.

Seems to be the only man in Cricket who doesn't mind talking truth, then again he is paid to do so.

.

I do know what you mean about not asking the hard questions, but at least when the cricket pundits talk about the game it’s interesting to listen to, rather than the complete bollocks 90% of the football pundits come out with.

And some of them are prepared to ask questions. I don’t think Hussain holds back as some of the others for instance.

They're still guarded enough though, they may press an angle so I agree to a degree. Holding perhaps, but then again he has no horse in this race when it comes to England as such.

The games gone.

I’m sorry, I don’t understand your reasoning. If he’s not going to face any difficult questions then he shouldn’t have a problem coming out to face them. I get that there’s a strange reluctance amongst the pundits to ask the right questions, probably because most of them are former England captains themselves, but nevertheless, Root should face up IMO, it’s this kind of thing that has people questioning his ability to lead. It looks like he’s hiding.

Turn it around and pretend we scored 400 yesterday. Root is at that press conference 20 minutes early for selfies and cake with the media. :D

Yeah I know what you mean. Holding called 20/20 cricket a load of rubbish yesterday.

If Root won't face the media after a days play then why is he going to come out and do a fluff piece for Sky?

Glad he got run out, he must have been given four lives. I wonder if we’ll be three or four down by lunch? That’s assuming we take this final wicket pretty soon.

That’s what I’m on about, him not facing the media. I didn’t even think about Sky and that silly cart thing. I read they sent Thorpe out and assumed it was to the press conference......

So only 359 to win.

How long do we think it’s going to last? I reckon about noon tomorrow, although certainly wouldn’t be surprised if it was over today.
