Eng 498-4 off 50 overs. new world record.

just ridiculous hitting.

I was so desperate for the guys to find another couple of runs, or for the Dutch to deliver a 'no ball' and a free-hit in that final over. Still, ecstatic to have smashed our own world record with some outrageous batting from our BATSMEN.

(I use the word 'BATSMEN' as my own personal protest at the way that word has now been made redundant by everyone. That's what they are. They're BATSMEN not 'batters'. I do wish people would stop pissing about with our language).

End of rant.

Anyway, well done lads, a fantastic performance. ?‍♂️

Interesting To see countries like Holland getting into cricket. T20 format is so marketable. Must be a real gap in the market across Europe. It’s funny that obviously countries like Spain are weather wise perfect for cricket. I’ve really no idea what the major summer sports in other European countries are. I guess tennis golf athletics. I suppose biggest draw back would be lack of stadiums.

Can’t understand why we won and bowled, I thought they’d set their sights on this 500 milestone!
Unless they are just thinking bumper crowd let’s not finish it too early….

Probably didn’t want to stand around all afternoon in the blazing sun!

Get them in, knock them over asap - get the hell out of dodge. It’s a bit of a mismatch! They’ve had their fun so time to get the job done as quickly as they possibly can, which is, stick em in ?‍♂️

Sure was. A bit like putting Man City up against Rotherham, but anyway, I'm delighted for Davey Payne getting his first ODI wicket and for Jason Roy's wonderful ton. ?‍♂️

This has to be the best scorecard I’ve seen this year.

If only Sky could get their football punditry close to the quality of their Cricket commentary. Sangakarra there talking through wicket keeping like that is so insightful and adds so much to the event.

Hussain and Atherton are the best Sky pundits across any sport. Bar none IMO
